Specific Troubleshooting Guide (Steam Deck)

Issues changing settings / resolution problems

If you’re having issues configuring settings for Wayfinder on your Steam Deck or experiencing strange shifts in the display ratio try the following steps:

Select Wayfinder in the Steamdeck Interface
Press the “Options”
Navigate to “Properties”
Change the “Game Resolution” option to 3840×2160
Enable the “Set resolution for internal and external display” option
Back-Out and launch Wayfinder

You should then be able to easily modify resolution and other settings without experiencing additional issues or display ratio shifts.

Note: A patch for this problem is in the works. The above is just the work-around until it’s properly fixed.

Crashing Issues

Try not to pause the game in areas full of monsters, or events.
Return to Skylight before pausing the game.
You can also add the launch argument “-dx11” in the properties
Wayfinder -> Options Button -> Properties -> Scroll down the General tab and add -dx11 to “Launch Options”.
Note: This will cause a DRASTIC dip in overall FPS performance in the highlands, but has been seen to reduce the crashes.

Large amount of stuttering

Wayfinder does not function well when installed to a SD card, please install it to Steam Deck’s internal storage.
Try resetting the in-game graphics setting.
