How to Leveling Fast

Intro

What I’m focusing on in this guide is just one of the factors that will affect your leveling speed.

The idea behind this approach was taken from the assumption that a sufficiently high speed of movement in the long run outperforms everything else in the leveling process. This assumption can be true under certain circumstances and was confirmed in the vanilla and classic wow speed run world records, where a large part of the leveling process was performed on foot. It seems that in New World the situation is similar so every factor that allows you to increase and keep the movement speed higher than other players for as long as possible (while maintaining comparable kill and downtime rates) gives an advantage over them.

The trick here is that we just postpone the moment where we need to spend time building our character to its final form by selecting skills that increase movement (from hatchet and bow or fire staff) during our leveling process.

So unless you plan on using hatchet a bow or a fire staff as your weapon of choice, you will have to level up the desired weapon combo once you reach a character level that satisfies you.

Either way, you will spend time or gold / azoth after completing the leveling process.

Movement Rotation

Hatchet + Bow:

  1. Start with hatchet:
  2. Feral Rush [leap forward @ 12s cd]
  3. Berserk (with On The Hunt passive) [+20% / 15s @ 30s cd]
  4. Feral Rush off cd [leap forward @ 12s cd]
  5. {Switch to bow when berserk ends} (Archer’s Speed passive should kick in) [10% / 5s]
  6. Use dodge (when Archer’s Speed is off) to activate Dodge and Weave passive [20% / 2s]

  • Avg movement speed increase: 16.6%.
  • Avg uptime 22 sec (73.3%). + 2x Feral rush distance.
