Twelve Minutes – Speedruning Guide (How to Beat Game in No More Than 5 Loops)

Important Notes

• This guide walks you through from Fresh Start of the guide (If you already played the game you can reset progress by going to Option->Advanced->Delete Progress).
• You can try from 1st loop if you continued from somewhere.
• Dialogues are important to unlock other choices and dialogues, do not skip dialogue when inspecting some object or cut conversation short.

Things that are not important (for completing ending 1-3)

• Eating Desserts/Setting Tables
• Dancing
• Locking Doors (“Cop” Always Breaks your door)
• Turning on Radio
• Attacking Cop (He always punch you back, shoots you, or headbutt you)
• Killing the “Cop”
• Killing Yourself
• Killing Wife
• Calling 911 (They will always come 15 minute while loop is 12 minute short)
• Calling Insurance
• Calling Yourself

Things that seemed not important but is very important

• Switching light on in bedroom once (You or wife have to do it)
• Tying up the “Cop” when you are injuring him.
• Sleeping on Bottom side of the bed (“Cop” will see wife faster)
• Closing the front door when sleeping

• And No you cannot sneak on cop.
• And you always have to drug your wife to overpower the cop.

Walkthrough From Fresh Start

Introduction

• Inspect Plants
• Inspect Fake Rock
• Use House Key on Front Door

Loop 1

• Pick up Mug (On the table by the couch, just beside you)
• Inspect Fridge
• Pick up Polaroid

Note: Your Wife comes out faster in first Loop, You have to pick up polaroid before she kisses you or else timing will be off and you may have to restart the loop

• Go into Bathroom
• Inspect Medicine Cabinet
• Pick up Sleeping Pills
• Use Sleeping Pills on Mug (Or Vice-Versa)
• Use Mugs with Pills on Sink
• Place Mug on Table beside couch

Note: If the mug is on the table she will not care if she see you putting pills into the mug.

Note 2: Alternatively you can hand the mug to your wife, but she will refuse if she see you put in the pills. And handing mugs to her results in more dialogue and less timesave

• Get into Bedroom
• Switch on the bedroom light <– Important
• Sleep on bottom side of the bed

Note: Sleeping on bottom side of the bed will ensure your wife sleep on top side, resulting in timesave and less dialogue from Cops

• Wait until 5 minute mark (You automatically wake up on the “cop” is banging on your door)
• Go into Bathroom and close the door

Note: You can hide in closet but it requires more clicking and bathroom is a bit closer

• Wait until “cop” get electrocuted
• Go into Bedroom

Note: Wait until the end of “What the-” Subtitle for perfect moment to open door.

• Inspect Unconscious Cop

Note: by this point in game he is referred as “Stranger”

• Pick up a Revolver, a Handcuff, and a Phone from Cop (Stranger)
• Use Handcuff on Cop (Stranger)

Note: You have to do it before he gets up

• Use Revolver on Cop (Stranger) Legs or Arms

• Note: Do this only once or he’ll die, also he will die from shot in torso.
• Note 2: Alternatively you can use any knife but the animation is slower and is more gruesome
• Note 3: You have to tie him up or he will die if he gets up when he is wounded

• Open the Drawer
• Pick up Present from the Drawer
• Use Present
• Inspect Baby Clothes (You have to wait until he said “With my Mother’s Name On it” or important choice will not appear)
• Use Phone
• Go to Message
• Click on one of the mail by Bumblebee
• Click on the Number (413-555-0193)
• Click Dial
• Click on Cop (Stranger)

>Select “Ask what is going on”

>Select “Ask about Murder Charges”

>Select “How was her father murdered”

>Select “Why are you still after my wife”

>Select Previous Topic

>Select “Ask about the tip”

>Select “Ask about the watch”

• Leave conversation
• Inspect Polaroid
• Click on Polaroid in hand

Note: Be sure to wait until he finished the dialogue or important choices will not be unlocked.

• Leave the bedroom
• Go out the front door. Finishing Loop 1

Loop 2

• Open the closet door
• Go into closet
• Close the door

Note: Do this before your wife discover you or timing will be off

• Inspect Clothes
• Pick up Phone
• Use Phone
• Call Bumblebee

>Select “Say her father wants to arrest your wife”

>Select “Say your wife is innocent”

Note: If the choice does not appear get polaroid and inspect it again

• Inspect Blinds
• Open the door
• Inspect Fridge
• Pick up Polaroid
• Get kissed by your wife
• Go into Bedroom
• Inspect Drawer
• Pick up Present (Do not open present)
• Get out of Bedroom
• Use Polaroid on Wife

>Select “Choose what to prove with”

• Use Present

Note: You can use Perfectly timed Thunder or Pocket Watch but Present is fastest

• Listen to your wife about her “murdering” her father

Note: By this time Cop will be stalled by Bumblebee, giving you enough time to do next step

• Talk to Wife

>Select “Tell her about the cop”

>Select “Explain the Cop’s Connection to her father” (IMPORTANT, If not done cop will not trust your wife)

• Open the door when the “Cop” is knocking

Note: Open only after Cop say “Love you More” or else cop will not trust your wife

• Listen to Dialogue between your wife and “Cop” and ends with you hugging your wife., Finishing Loop 2

Note: you have to wait until you hugs her or important choice will not appear.

Loop 3

Note: mostly same as Loop 1 as you have to drug your wife again

Note 2: You can finish this loop doing same thing as loop 2 again but this method is faster

• Pick up mug on the table by the couch
• Get kissed by your wife
• Go into Bathroom
• Inspect Medicine Cabinet
• Pick up Sleeping Pills
• Use Sleeping Pills on Mug
• Use Mug with Pills on sink
• Exit the bathroom
• Place Mug with pills on the table by the couch
• Go into bedroom
• Switch on the light << Important!
• Sleep on bottom side
• Wait until 5 minute mark (you automatically wake up when “cop” bang on door)
• Get into Bathroom and close the door (Or hide in closet)
• Wait for Cop the get electrocuted
• Go into Bedroom
• Click on Unconscious Cop
• Pick up a Revolver and a Handcuff
• Use Handcuff on Cop
• Use Revolver on Cop Legs or Arms
• Open Drawer
• Pick up Present
• Use Present
• Talk to Cop

>Select “Ask him about Nanny”

• Leave Conversation
• Use Baby Clothes on Cop Ending Loop 3

Note: This begin Revelation and big plot twist of whole game

Flashback 1

Note: this is more like a cutscene so you can sit back and relax for now

>Select “Maybe it’s all her fault” Ending Flashback 1

Note: The result will be the same but second choice is fastest

Loop 4

Note: this is more like another cutscene

• Get Hysterical, Ending Loop 4

Loop 5

• Get kissed by your wife
• Go into Bathroom
• Inspect Medicine Cabinet
• Use House Key on Ventilation Grid (On the bottom of screen)

Note: Your wife will get spooked and leave apartment, don’t mind her

• Pick up “Object” in the vent (Pocket watch) You will automatically inspect it. If it didn’t happen use pocket watch in your inventory
• Wait until times rolls back to -2 minute, Ending Loop 5

Flashback 2

>Select “Maybe It’s better if we aren’t together” – Ending 3

Congratulations! You have beaten this game in ~20 minutes.

Alternatively you can click the book on the bottom as fast as possible to get ending 1.

But I think ending 3 seems like the most responsible ending and can end as same time as ending 3 for Any% speedrun.

To get ending 2 you have to wait until “Fine, you wanna force my hand? Fine!” click on book and then click on the clock.

The run my me here. There could be a lot of timesaves. Possible but I am not that hardcore of speedrunner.
