Warframe – Fishing Handbook

Unlocking Your First Fishing Spear

Hiya folks. I’m gonna cover the basic steps as if you havn’t played Plains of Eidolon yet. You’re going to want to go to Navigation, select Earth, and find a nice settlement called Cetus.

Warframe - Fishing Handbook

Once you’ve picked one of the servers you will touch base on Cetus and be introduced to an initially confusing marketplace. Eventually you’re going to want to find a little old guy next to a big shiney gate and get started. You’ll have to do a bounty, which will reward you with Standing (500 Required for your first spear), and it will introduce you to the Plains. Upon completion you will also unlock the main quest.

Now for acquiring your spear! Make your way around the twisty wavey marketplace to find the nice fish lady and browse her wares. Assuming you picked up that 500 Standing, you’ll be able to purchase the Lanzo Fishing Spear. To equip it you’ll have to add it to your gear wheel in the Arsenal.

Getting Started

So you have your first spear, good work. Time to put it to use. Enter the Plains and find a nice body of water. You’ll want something deep enough that your Warframe would suffocate and hopefully far away enough from Grineer that they don’t invade your tranquil fish fun. Go into your gear wheel and equip your fishing spear. Play around with it. Get used to it. SPECULATION: Fish will only spawn when you’re taking aim with right click but I doubt that. I personally believe they spawn aslong as you’re patient enough and stand around a body of water with your spear out for some time. If you have a good ear then you’ll be able to make use of the few sounds fish make when they’re about. When you see one take aim and fire. Congratulations, you’re on the road towards Professional Fishing.

Boot

Boot. Any Spear but Peram Spear is recommended for this monstrosity. Anytime. Anywhere.

The Boot is the most elusive specimen of the waters which is why it’s unfortunate that it sells for only a mere 400 credit. The elusive Boot is 4.0 kg and when caught you are rewarded with only the most satisfying of catch sounds.
