Ways to escape Dungeons & Duct Tape [DLC], but not the multiplayer escape.

Starting Off

All credit goes to Alex The Dragon!

This prison is very, and I mean very, Grappling-hook based. It’s recommended to make a Grappling Hook as soon as you can. You’ll need a Grappling Head and a Rope, you can find them both in desks (you don’t need to craft a Grappling head, it’s literally just in a desk). You’ll also need 70+ Intelligence to craft it, you can get that by reading books. The bookcase is at the Bottom-Left of the Prison, but is “protected” by metal detectors, so don’t bring any contraband with you.

Bookcase.

Perimeter Breakout

You’re going to need:

  • 1 Broom Handle
  • 1 Timber
  • 2 Wooden Oar (Timber, Wooden Peg, Broom Handle)
  • Something to break blocks with

You can find the Broom Handle in desks, same with the Timber. You’ll need to craft the Wooden Oars with Timber, Wooden Pegs and Broom Handles. You’ll need to craft (or find) a good shovel and/or pickaxe. You’ll need to be able to dig 5 blocks and chip 1 wall.

You’ll want to start digging here, just next to this job location, it has a desk and is really close to the location you’re trying to go to. It doesn’t really matter where you dig, as long as you dig in there, and make sure to block up the hole with the desk.

Here’s an underground view, to see where you need to dig towards. The white blocks is open
space, already dug open.

This how your tunnel needs to look like. Note how you don’t need any Timber Braces to finish your tunnel, so you don’t need to craft those.

This is all you need with the digging/chipping stuff, so your pickaxe/shovel can just go in the trash.

This is where you need your single Broom Handle, to make this lever usable (it’s already used in this screenshot because I’m too lazy to do this again). Just press E on the broken lever with the Broom Handle equipped. After this just go up the ladder to get to the boat, which you will use to escape.

Here is the boat, almost finished. You’ll need to fix the boat with 1 Timber and 2 Wooden Oars. You can find the Timber in desks and you’ll need to craft the Wooden Oars yourself, with 1 Timber, 1 Wooden Peg and 1 Broom Handle per Oar.

After all this you can finally escape.

Sturdy Pickaxe + Sturdy Shovel (Useful for the Perimeter Breakout)

There’s a really useful desk located at the top of the building, but it does require a Grappling Hook [70+ Intelligence, a grappling hook (found in a desk), rope (also found in a desk)]. It is advised to get a Guard Outfit, because there will be a Metal detector in the way, which you can bypass by going through a guard-only door. Fastest way to get one is to beat up a guard and then getting knocked out (after you’ve put the outfit in your desk). You can get a Red Key if you don’t want the security (stars) to go up.

I’ll be using a Grappling Hook and a Guard Outfit, nothing else.

Hint: Follow the Black Arrows.

Go here and use a Grappling Hook against the top wall.

You’ll arrive at the bottom of this screen, just move up through the Guard-Only door or, if you have to, through the metal detector. You need to keep your Grappling Hook, so the alarm will go off if you go through the metal detector.

Use the stairs to go upstairs to the top, don’t mind the other guards or the desks.

At the top floor, go here and use your Grappling Hook. After that just go down into the small building. You’ll find a Sturdy Pickaxe, a Sturdy Shovel, a Chocolade Bar, a Guard Outfit and 2 Timber Braces. You don’t need the Timber braces, for the Perimeter Breakout escape or the other escape.

Proof.

After this, you need a Red Key to go through the door on this floor (on the right side) or you’ll need to improvise.

The Escapists 2 - How to Escape Dungeons & Duct Tape DLC

Since I don’t have a Red Key, I can’t go through this door (or any other door below). I can’t escape without breaking blocks or knocking out guards. Since I don’t like the chance with me getting a Red Key, I’ll have to chip a wall.

You will have to chip this wall, and jump down. After jumping down just dump everything into your desk. They might notice the broken wall, but only after a few hours (usually). After that the Security will get 1.5 stars extra, which might cause a lockdown, which is NOT what you want. If you have a lockdown, just make sure your Pickaxe and your Shovel is in your Hidden Cabinet, so they don’t take that from you.

‘Tis But A Scratch Escape

This escape is REALLY annoying, especially if you don’t know where all the stuff is.

Starting off, You need 80 Intelligence and 70 Strength for a Job. This is just to get the Molten Metal, because there is no other way of getting it. You also need a Grappling Hook to get certain items. You make that with Rope and a Grappling Head (Just find them both in desks).

You’ll need to gather (find in random locations or craft it):

  • 5 Metal Sheets
  • 3 Rivets
  • 1 Hammer
  • 1 Tool Handle (1 Timber and 1 File)
  • 1 Feather
  • 1 Belt [non-official name] (something that looks like a Belt)

You can find all this stuff in desks, just look around the map. They spawn at random, so they can be physically everywhere (except in the Pair-of-Gloves-desk).

Here is the other stuff you need to get, which have “stationary” positions.

  • 1 Pair of Shoes
  • 1 Pair of Gloves
  • 1 Molten Metal

The Escapists 2 - How to Escape Dungeons & Duct Tape DLC

You’ll get the Pair of Shoes from this desk, you’ll need a Grappling Hook to get it, just go on the lower floor and basically spam space (the use-tools button) while having the Grappling Hook equipped.

You’ll get the Pair of Gloves from this desk, just use the Grappling Hook on the lower floor to get it.
Hint: there’s a Black Arrow pointing to where you can use the Grappling Hook.

You get the Molten Metal from the Horseshoe-making-job, you smelt the Metal Bar there.

After getting everything, just make everything.

  • Greaves (Pair of Shoes, Metal Sheet, Belt-thing)
  • Chestplate (2 Metal Sheets, Rivets)
  • Gloves (Pair of Gloves, Metal Sheet, Rivets)
  • Helmet (Feather, Metal Sheet, Rivets)
  • Sword (Molten Metal, Hammer, Tool Handle)

The Escapists 2 - How to Escape Dungeons & Duct Tape DLC

After making everything, you need to go to this location, and place everything at the armor stand, in this order, Greaves>Chestplate>Gloves>Helmet>Sword.

After that just press E on the armor stand, and you’ll Escape.
