There are two ways to clean it.

First: Run it under the Water. though I’ve not seen it really matter, yet.
Second: You can also “dump” the contents into a trash bin. Tho I somehow wouldn’t have thought of the run it under water thing.

This is the quickest / easiest way that I have found. Just be careful not to press “dump” twice, or you will toss the cutting board in the trash and you will have to buy a new one.

This also works with liquids, you can instantly empty them into to trash without bothering with the sink.
