Hello soldier! You went the extra mile and got yourself TWO fully suited, laser powered Paladins of the Brotherhood of Steel. You may notice that they appear in Power Plant 04 during the Second Battle of Hoover Dam. You may have noticed that they don’t follow you pass that room, but they are actually meant to follow you the entire battle! Today, I’m showing you how!
1. Clear the Area of Enemies (Power Plant 04).
First thing’s first, help the NCR troopers, NCR Rangers, and Brotherhood of Steel Paladins in clearing the starting room (Power Plant 04).
2. Enter Power Plant 03 and Clear the Immediate Area.
Go through the door directly across the room that leads to Power Plant 03. Once you load in, clear out the first wave of enemies.
3. Turn Around, Enter Power Plant 04.
Once the enemies in the immediate area are cleared, which is only the ones that appeared as you loaded in and not the enemies spawning in further in the room, you need to turn around and enter the door behind you that leads back to Power Plant 04.
4. Turn Around Again, Enter Power Plant 03, and Load the Autosave.
Now that you see the Paladins, notice how they are following you in this area but not to any other room. Let’s fix that. You’re going to want to turn around, enter Power Plant 03 again. The Paladins will not follow you there yet. After loading in, pause the game, load your autosave that was just created.
5. After Loading the Autosave, Turn Around Yet Again and Enter Power Plant 04.
Once you load the Autosave, turn around and enter Power Plant 04 which is where the Paladins are located. Once you enter, you’ll notice the Paladins and even the NCR Troopers will move to Power Plant 03 right away on their own.
6. Rinse and Repeat. You Will Need to Do This for Each Room/Load Zone.
That is how you get the Paladins and even the NCR Troopers with them to advance. It will need to be done with each room, but should only take a few seconds to do.
7. Things to Note
Okay, some things I noted. When you leave the Hoover Dam Visitor Center, the Paladins will enter through the door to the outside on the second level, meaning you will not see them follow you to the main entrance on the first level, but they will be there to follow you as you engage the enemies ahead.
Another thing, when you get to the Hoover Dam Check Point, the trick won’t work like normal, you can try it but the Paladins will be delayed in following you, just advance with the NCR Veteran Rangers and the Paladins will catch up with you momentarily.
Last thing, at the Legate’s camp, the NCR Veteran Ranger Commander and the two Brotherhood Paladins won’t follow you right away. You need to clear the camp, and then when you get far enough in, you will find that the camp is closed off. The Paladins and Ranger Commander will spawn in and follow you to the Legate.
