Here is a simple guide for Destiny 2 achievements, how to get them and which DLCs are required for which achievements.
New Light Achievements (No DLC Required)
- Long and Winding Road – Reach level 20
- Cayde’s Pathfinder – Acquire each Hunter subclass
- Ikora’s Protege – Acquire each Warlock subclass
- Zavala’s Lieutenant – Acquire each Titan subclass
3 above require you to play certain classes and their subclasses. Check a quick video guide about subclasses if you are new to the game.
In A Flash – Complete a Flashpoint on Earth, Titan, Nessus, or Io
Flashpoints are events that can be found on various planets. Complete one in one of the mentioned planets.
The People’s Hero – Complete a Heroic public event
You will counter public events as you play the game. Sentarry has a great guide for turning these into heroic. Reach it through here.
Heart of Darkness – Complete a Nightfall strike
You can find these in the orbit.
Challenge Accepted – Complete 30 challenges
The Life Exotic – Collect 15 Red War exotic weapons or armor

Show Me What You Got – Complete Introduction: Crucible
This is a PVP mode
High-Stakes Play – Win a Gambit match
Another PVP mode, now available to non-Forsaken owners.
Lest Ye Be Judged – Encounter an Agent of the Nine somewhere in the system
Xur, Agent of the Nine sells extremely rare items and only appears on weekends from Friday to Sunday.
Legends Grow – Earn 5,000 Triumph points
Belly Of The Beast – Complete the Leviathan raid
The Prestige – Complete the Leviathan raid on Prestige difficulty
Raids have certain mechanics, so they can’t be soloed regardless of your power. Nonetheless, even if you have no use for the gear, they are pretty fun!
Fashion Statement – Complete a Collections Badge
Forsaken Achievements
Nothing Left to Say – Pursue Uldren and the Fanatic to the Watchtower, and finish what you started
Heart of the Awoken – Enter the Dreaming City (this is unconfirmed, with New Light this zone is available to everyone but whether the achievement unlocks for all is not known).
An Exotic Journey – Complete a Forsaken Exotic Quest
Darkness Falls – Defeat a Forsaken Nightfall Boss
Exotique – Collect 10 Forsaken Exotic weapons or armor
Wishing for the Best – Complete the “Last Wish” Raid
Seal the Deal – Complete a Triumph Seal
Unsure about this last one, but as far as I can see Forsaken / Shadow Keep required. It seems slightly possible to get it vanilla, but as far as I could tell, it requires previous season progress.
“Heart of the Awoken” Did not unlock for me.
I have new light and an able to enter the location after reaching 570,000 XP but nothing unlocks.
I Have not purchased Forsaken, perhaps that is the issue….
Also “Legends Grow” is not unlocking for me either, I worked my way up from 0-5,000 points and no achievement.
There must be something bugged with me because the percentage of completion is 33% which means its definitely working
Won a Gambit match last night, achievement did not pop.
Pretty sure most of these achievements are infact locked to the specific Expansion they released with, either Forsaken or maybe Shadowkeep
Confirmed. I had 8,3K Triumph points and no achievement popped up. Bought the DLC’s last night and the achievement ”Legends Grow” triggered. Also confirmed Heart of the Awoken – Enter the Dreaming City, before it didn’t trigger, now after buying the DLC’s it did.
Question about Darkness Falls . Is this related to The Corrupted nightfall and defeat Mara to unlock the achievement? I just have beaten Forsaken campaign and noticed that achievement still locked.
no that is not about the story, here how it goes:
When you are in the strikes section, look at the Nightfall. Nightfall rotates weekly, you need to find one of the below:
Warden of Nothing
The Hollowed Lair
The Corrupted
These were added with Forsaken and will pop the achievement once completed.
Thanks for the information, was trying for the Legends Grow, but it didn’t pop. Now I know why. Cheers
