This guide basically explains how to get platinum coins very easily during journey mode.

How to Earn Platinum Coins (Easy Method)

How to Get Rich in Journey Mode

Get at least 1 silver coin from killing a couple of enemies.
Open your inventory by pressing Esc (Escape) on your keyboard and look at what you can craft. You should see 100 copper coins.
Craft 100 copper coins then press C to toggle journey powers.
Research the 100 copper coins.
Fill up your inventory with copper coins and craft a ton of silver coins until you get 100 silver coins.
Research the 100 silver coins.
Fill up your inventory with silver coins and craft a ton of gold coins until you get 100 gold coins.
Research the 100 gold coins.
Fill up your inventory with gold coins and craft a ton of platinum coins until you get 100 platinum coins.
Research the 100 Platinum coins.
You are rich now yay.
