Steps for Finding Tim

First Step – Increasing Chances

Thing you need to do is get a Gem Robe.

You will need:

  • 20 Silk.
  • Loom.
  • Ten of one Gem type(Amber, Amethyst, Diamond, Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, and Topaz).

Looms can be found in Underground Cabins or can be crafted via a Sawmill with 12 Wood of any type. Once you’ve required the Loom, you can then craft Silk with Cobwebs, Cobwebs can also be found Underground.

You will need 20 Silk to craft a Robe, once you have the Robe, you will need the ten of one Gem type, and the robe already crafted, go up to the Loom and select which gem robe you have enough for.

The Gem Rob increases your chances a lot (most be equipped in your main armor slot) to further increase your chances, hold, and/or place a water candle.

Water candles can be found in the Dungeon, you can enter the Dungeon once you’ve defeated the Dungeon Guardian. Setting the world to either Expert or Master highers your chances as well.

Second Step – Finding Tim

Tim is found in the lower Cavern layer. I’d suggest staying below the depth of 1000 in the Caverns.

But don’t enter the Underworld, Tim will not spawn there.

He spawns near lava most of the time, and I’d suggest to keep moving and not staying in the same place, going back and forth works too.

Best way to tell you’re below 1000 depth is to have the Depth Meter on you, the Depth Meter is dropped by Cave Bats, Giant Bats, Spore Bats, Jungle Bats, and Ice Bats.

The Lifeform Analyzer is good to have too, but it is differently not as useful as the other things I’ve listed.

And that’s about all it is to finding Tim, once you find him he is very easy to kill.
