  1. Medium Armor Master is a pretty significant buff if you can build for it. +1 armor class is much stronger than what shield master or heavy armor master give for example. The value of AC has compounding returns so the more you get the more each additional point is worth. Let’s say for example that the enemies can hit you on a 11-20 die roll. If you were to get +1 armor you just reduced your average incoming damage by 9%, 16-20 is 17%, and 19-20 is 33%. The requirement of a 15 starting dex and half of an ASI does offset the benefits somewhat, but I think that brings it back down inline with shield master and heavy armor master.

    At the very least, if I was building a shield master fighter I would definitely take this before I took shield master since my AC is already going to be so high that this is going to be a significant damage reduction.
