Click and hold the item you want to equip until you can drag it around.
Then press F (or your keybinded back button) while still holding the item.
Back into the main inventory menu then drag it over the correct equipment slot and let go.
Example: click and hold gloves -> press F to back into main inventory -> hover gloves over glove slot and let go.
