Dark and Darker – Cleric Solo Play Tips (Playtest)

Tips to Play Cleric in Solo

All credit goes to Pylock!

Cleric

  • Judgement/smite perks Undead slayer > Blunt mastery > perseverance > drunken master.

Tactics

  • Judgment and smite on every engagement when possible judgment works well on bats/dragonflies when fighting vs other melee you can pull ahead by judging swinging while out of range then taking 2 steps back before stepping forward wit ha new atk you can bait a ton melee with this as alot people just hold swing and walk forward.

Don’t rush in let players come to you fight choke points.

Gear

  • Anything with + damage weapons or spell damage judgment scales well with spell damage and + weapon damage on top smite is crazy good.

Pros

  • Can wreck lobbies with starting gear if you get good at dancing in combat, also you can peek judge archers and just wait on CD to do it again with about +15 spell power you can 1 tap skelly archers in normal. with smite up you can out dps a rogue if you rush them.

Cons

  • Slower then fighters in heavy gear rangers can be tough but if you make them chase you you can 2-3 tap them with a mace and smite.

Looting

  • Clear the whole room then loot break all boxes/barrels before looting in the long run this will save you as you are getting all the noise out the way faster especially early on if you are close to other spawns, pyramid room is great smite 1 taps bats with starting mace so does judgment 4/5 casts rarely a bat will have 1-2 hp left after judgment.

Slow play out side of circles edge don;t worry about looting everything 2-3 things in a room keep moving if you hear players and you are low on supplies go around them.

Consumes

  • Invis pots/shield pots should be used during any engagement where you have time don’t horde them use them this is same on almost any class.

Hard parts

  • Teams with multi rangers will be the bane of you if they see you first best option is to get distance kite mobs and shut a door with the mobs blocking it.

Sweaty 3 mans if the event you see them first either stay back watch wait for them to get in a fight and backdoor or move away as quietly as possible same as fighter start bu judging them target priority should be ranger > rogue > cleric > all others if the team is spread attack the closest and then pull back make other 2 come to you.

Thing to avoid

  • Wraths, skelly captains, dragon flys (when judgement on CD).

Additional thoughts

  • Lack of range options means playing allot corners solo I have found spells be be less valuable when it comes to pvp hench the judgment/smite choice.

If you stick to smaller rooms and play the edge of circle and dip out at your first blue port a few times you will start to accumulate a ton wealth fast even white greys sell for 4-8g.
