Initially, the method to achieve this is the hold the View Down button, tap to grab the van, beam should be blue.

Then when placing the van hold View Down button and tap the same button to drop it.

If for any reason the van is moving rapidly in the beam, look below

If the van is glitching out rapidly, change FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 in Video Settings to Quality, Performance or Ultra Performance.

The van should stop spazzing out and will drop instead of being thrown or bumping into the ufo or destroying the building and will slow fall from there.
