I’m trying to use Exotic Bait, but nothing shows up when I throw it overboard.

Make sure you have the correct rod type equipped to catch the exotic fish for the region you’re currently in.

How do I catch fish #230?

You need to have finished The Scientist’s quest line. Then, the information you need is in the Encyclopedia. Try using Aberration Bait.

How do I get the Gleaming Goliath achievement?

Spend some time in oil patches and see what turns up. Hint: don’t use the Banish ability.

How to construct the defense system?

Talk to the Scientist in Stellar Basin.

What is neat as well, is being able to sell all your resources? I have too much wood.

What do you do with the corpse?

You keep it as a pet.

How am I supposed to catch sea cucumbers?

Their catch type is crab. Crab pots, The Marrows.

How do I get more of the dark splashes if I’ve cleaned up all of the oil puddles on the map?

Failing to catch a iron rig fish zill grant 1 unit each time.

How do you get dark canisters, I need them to progress to build certain gear but I don’t know where to get them?

Get the siphoning trawl. once you have it equipped you can run through the black ooze and soak it up to make dark canisters. You can also build them with a level 2 foundry.

If you have more than one of the same tech lab item, does it stack? can i just get my trawling speed to like 500%?

Yes you can.

How to deal with snake?

Put the portal right before the border. Treasure him. Put him in storage. Abberated bait, open ocean.

Once you clean the oil from an area, are you still able to catch that Exotic Aberration by just using the Exotic Bait in the place you caught them before?

Yes, go to foreman. You can use exotic bait anywhere in the region and it works actually.

I’m trying not to read too much of this as I’m yet to finish it (only at the stellar basin part) but I’m just curious as to if there are times missions? Something that can only be done at a certain point in progression through the DLC?

No you don’t get locked out of stuff other than some of the extra dialogue options for some characters.

Did you know a better way to get 230 fish?

Equip only oceanic winch. Bait only brings fish you can catch and some abyssal and hadal fish are open ocean.

Does atrophy guarantee aberrations for exotic fish?

It doesn’t guarantee it, though. I used it and another aberration skill on an exotic I already had and got a bunch of other abs. It may be that if you fish up an exotic you won’t be able to get the ab immediately, though. You might have to wait for a respawn, even though it won’t show disturbed water.
