I found out that you can die during the credits. Here is how to do it.
Once you have chosen an ending (ideally one that leads straight to a ending cutscene), start pressing Q to call Freddy over, and repeated press E until you hear Gregory climb inside of him and the HUD appears on the screen.
Afterwards, just wait and let the magic happen!
