Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered – Nice Shootin’, Tex! Achievement Guide

Here is a guide with tips on how to get the achievement Nice Shootin Tex’.

How to Obtain Nice Shootin’, Tex! Achievement

Recommended Upgrades

You’ll want to get Blast Stream Focusing, Blast Stream Recoil Decrease, and The Fast Trap. Once you acquire the Shock Blast and Stasis stream during the campaign, I suggest you save money for those to get them asap.

Tips

  • I recommend beating the game first before attempting this achievement. This will help you learn what to expect from damage and how much things cost.
  • You’ll want to do this playthrough on casual. No need to make it extra hard for yourself.
  • Reloading a checkpoint does NOT reset the damage that was done. Any damage that was done is added to the record.
  • Don’t give up so quickly. You have to stay under $100,000 to get the achievement which might seem like that you’ll go over quickly but you can pass almost every level under $1,000 – $2,000.
  • I Do NOT use the Boson Darts in the real world unless you’re shooting them at Stay Puft.
  • When capturing a ghost make sure to be patient and wait for the ghost to become still. You can also wait for the other Ghostbusters to do damage but it will take even longer.
  • You’ll want to angle yourself where the ghost is in front of any empty walls or book shelves. That way if the ghost moves you won’t do any damage.
  • When fighting physical minions like the candle sticks, marshmallow creatures, and other possessed objects. I would suggest aiming at a down angle in front of you. Let them walk up to you and then blast them. I used the proton beam until unlocking the shock blast.
  • You can weaken ghosts without having to slam them. Just move the ghost the opposite direction that they’re moving and eventually they’ll be weak enough to go into the trap.

Firehouse

Very short level but damage can be done. When in the sub basement to capture Slimer and the escape ghost, the boxes can break and cost money. This is where you’ll first have to learn to be patient, wait for the ghost to be still and line up your shots.

Hotel Sedgewick

There is a lot of stuff to break during this section and there is no way to avoid it. As stated before, be patient and line up your shots with the ghost. Also watch where you’re stepping in sections like the hallways and through the kitchen.

When you are in the Kitchen there is a section where you have to pick up a fridge. There is no way to avoid this so try to pick it up and move it to the right or towards you.

Do deal with Flying Dead Fish, let Venkman blast them all to be safe.

Time Square

This level can be the make or break point for people. As I recommended in the tips section you’ll want to wait for the Marshmallow minis to be up close to you and aim your sights right down in front of you to eliminate them. If a ghost is near a car then don’t go for them and wait for them to move to a different position or go to a different ghost. Shooting any kinds of vehicles will cost the most. When the gargoyles show up I would recommend waiting and let the other Ghostbusters slam them.

Public Library

The main thing here that could help is that the bookshelves don’t cost money when shooting them. Just aim the walls and ceilings if shooting flying books and beware of furniture or just doge and let the other ghostbusters get them.

History Museum

This is one of the hardest levels to go through without breaking anything. Most likely will be the one you do the most damage on. Getting close to the possessed objects to destroy them is the best chance of doing the least amount of damage. Freezing them and blasting them away with a shock blast. You’ll have to destroy the statue and that will cost about $1000 but you can’t avoid it.

Return to Sedgewick

Just be careful not shoot furniture during the start. During the boss fight you won’t have to worry.

Shandor Island & Central Park

If you made it this far and stayed under the limit then congratulations you’re finished. These last two levels you can’t do damage that cost money. This is because both Shandor Island and the graveyard in central park are from the ghost dimension. Defeat the final boss and you’ll get the achievement.
