HALF DEAD 2 – 100% Full Achievement Guide

Despite being heavily multiplayer oriented, all of the achievements in this game are obtainable completely by yourself. They are very grindy and rather boring however. Not sure why I made this thing, since this game is deader than my character after being sucked through a turbine… But oh well.

How to Obtain All Achievements

All credit goes to The BMachine!

General Achievements

Discoverer

  • Discover five room

Curious

  • Discover fifty rooms

Forwarder

  • Discover hundred rooms

Researcher

  • Discover two hundred rooms

Explorer

  • Discover seven hundred ten rooms

These achievements mostly speak for themselves. A room is counted as discovered when you enter it and it turns white on the minimap. you will easily obtain all of these while grinding for the Carnage achievements.

It’s a trap

  • Find five traps

Ambush again

  • Find ten traps

Unsafe place

  • Find twenty traps

Where is the catch?

  • Find fifty traps

New intrigue

  • Find hundred traps

Devilish Wiles

  • Find two hundred fifty traps

You won’t surprise me

  • Find five hundred traps

Much like the discover room achievements, these will come pretty much automatically while grinding Carnage or any other gamemode.

Victories

Worthy

  • Win once in PVP mode

Perfect score

  • Win five times in PVP mode

The best

  • Win ten times in PVP mode

For these achievements, you need to win 10 times in Carnage. You need to play this game mode anyway for the other achievements, and since practically nobody plays this anymore winning is extremely trivial. Just make your way towards the center and step on the platform.

Not bad

  • Win once in cooperative mode

Favorable outcome

  • Win five times in cooperative mode

Lucky day

  • Win ten times in cooperative mode

Well done

  • Win twenty five times in cooperative mode

Despite being for a cooperative mode, these achievements can be obtained completely by yourself. Just host a lobby for private co-op and go in by yourself. For size I recommend Pyramid X2, so you only have to finish 2 small floors. for difficulty I suggest “I’m too young to die”, so there are fewer traps and you take less damage.

These are probably the only achievements that actually take some amount of skill. Still, they are quite easy. The exit is always in the opposite corner of where you start. Throw shoes so you can avoid deathtrap rooms, unless you still need some of the death achievements – in which case I recommend not using shoes on the first floor only.

Deaths

These achievements all require you to die in a specific type of deathroom. This is completely random, the only way to get them is by opening and running into as many rooms as you can. You can increase the difficulty to have a higher chance of encountering a death room if you want, but I prefer to do it in tandem with completing 25 co-op games on the easiest difficulty. As far as I know most of these can’t be encountered in Carnage.

Feed the crocodile

  • Die from crocodile

I honestly forgot how I got this exactly, but I don’t think it actually needs to be in a death room. Just find a room with water pits, and look down to check if you see any crocodiles. Quite a few rooms have these.

Unlucky

  • In deathly room die by suffocation

A panel will rise from the middle of the room, which will start spreading black smoke. The smoke takes some time to kill you, but you will die eventually.

Accident

  • In deathly room die from teddy

A hole will open in the center of the room, and a massive stream of teddy bears will come flying out, rapidly filling the room and killing you.

Feed the shark

  • In deathly room die from shark

Water will come streaming down from the ceiling, gradually filling the room. Somehow a shark will appear out of nowhere, which eventually kills you.

Nightmare place

  • In deathly room die from sculls

A huge amount of skulls will start flooding in from the center and corners of the floor, eventually engulfing and killing you.

Bookworm

  • Fahrenheit 451

A gas canister will emerge from the center of the floor, eventually bursting on fire. Rather than doing the obvious and exploding, next a load of books will be dropped from the ceiling which will also light on fire and burn you to death.

It’s a dead end

  • In deathly room die from chain

An electrocuted bulb will rise from the center of the floor. After some seconds a bunch of chains will fly towards it, which will then explode outwards and kill you.

Stalemate

  • In deathly room die from buckshot

A large amount of steel balls will stream down from the ceiling, forming a pillar in the center of the room. Eventually they explode outwards and kill you.

Rest in peace

  • In deathly room die from turbine

A turbine turns on in the center of the ceiling, which will eventually suck you in and kill you.

God bless you

  • In deathly room die from lasers

A bunch of drones will come out of the ceiling and stick on the ceiling on one of the walls. They form a laser grid between them, which will slowly move across the room and kill you.

Carnage

These achievements are only obtainable in Carnage, the game’s Battle Royale gamemode. Now, despite the multiplayer for this game being completely dead, you can still obtain these achievements by yourself. The downside however is that since probably nobody else will be joining, you need to wait the 3.5 minute timer in the matchmaking lobby every single game before the round starts. And you’ll probably have to play around 100 matches for all achievements, so you do the math. But at least during the rounds, you can focus completely on looting.

The goal in Carnage is to reach the center of the map while the playable area keeps shrinking. In each room you may find a skeleton and/or chest. The skeletons can have weapons, boots, armor and shields next to them, but only the weapons matter for the achievements. The chests can have consumables and weapon modifiers.

Grenadier

  • Explode dynamite fifty times

Pyromancer

  • Break lighter fluid fifty times

Get away from me

  • Use impulse grenade fifty times

I see light at the end of the tunnel

  • Use flashbang grenade fifty times

Smoker

  • Throw neurotoxin fifty times

These can all be found in chests. Pick ’em up, use 3 to select them, and throw them anywhere. You don’t have to hit anything. The “lighter fluid” refers to Molotov Cocktails.

Here is Johnny

  • Install wooden plank fifty times

In some chests you’ll find a materializer, a strange purple device. You can use this to block a room entrance with wooden planks.

Stoner

  • Use pills fifty times

Medic

  • Use first aid kit twenty times

Mummy

  • Use bandage hundred times

These are also found in chests. Pills can be taken whenever, while first aid kits and bandages can only be used when not at full health. Bandages can also be found in other gamemodes, but it’s easiest to farm them here.

Fireman

  • Use torch to modify weapon twenty five times

Toxicologist

  • Use poison to modify weapon twenty five times

Electrician

  • Use electroshock to modify weapon twenty five times

Carpenter

  • Use nails to modify weapon twenty five times

These are the hardest of the bunch. You need to find a weapon modifier which is already pretty rare (I usually find 1 or 2 per game), and also find a weapon suitable for that modifier.

Nails, electroshock and fire can only be used on baseball bats and hockey sticks. Poison can only be used on weapons with a blade, such as the katana or sickles.

To combine them, open your inventory with tab, then drag the modifier onto the weapon.
