Quick Guide for Victory
By Zac Creatives.
Chasers
It’s a great feeling to score a goal, but there’s no point in going for the hoops alone without trusting your team. Losing the Quaffle happens often due to these individualistic attitudes, and right after that, the other team usually scores. Make passes!
- It’s not necessary to go directly from A to B; you can make a U-turn and pass the ball. This creates a lot of confusion.
- Don’t move all forward at once.
- The Chaser of the Keeper will be more forward because at defense they become Keeper.
- The Chaser of the Seeker should stay further back, as they can provide more consistent support to the Keeper.
- The Chaser of the Beater should stay in the center, linking the line between players.
- Don’t all rush toward the Quaffle at the start of the game. Look around, and if there’s a Chaser ahead of you, hang back—if they fail to grab the Quaffle, you’ll have a second chance to retrieve it.
- Always ask for the Quaffle after the Keeper’s throw, as passing to a bot can often result in the Quaffle being lost quickly.
Seeker
- When you see the Seeker symbol behind you, use dodge immediately and then move close to strike.
- You can avoid the Bludger by doing a 360-degree spin with your broom; you’ll lose some distance, but it’s better than losing health or dying.
- If you notice your Beater isn’t helping, ask them for support. If they’re busy dealing with a very active opponent Beater, focus on battling the opposing Seeker, and let the Keeper know when you’re passing by the hoops, a kick from them can take off a lot of health from the opposing Seeker.
Beater
- Always watch what the other Beater is doing and check if your Keeper is in trouble.
- When the Snitch appears, protect your Seeker by hitting both the enemy Beater and Seeker. A good technique is to look back and steal enemy Bludgers to throw them at the opposing Seeker. Don’t throw from too far away, as it’s likely they’ll dodge it. Be patient and choose the right moment to return after passing the hoops.
- If the opposing Beater has a Bludger and you hit them with your bat, you can steal their Bludger.
- If you make contact with your Bludger, you’ll regain it without having to call for it.
Keeper
- It’s tough, Only use the Chaser when they’re in the last quarter of the front field.
- Try not to throw the Quaffle downfield; it’s always better to pass it, but make sure it’s not to a bot.
- Pay attention to the opposing Seekers when they pass by your hoops—a kick from you can be a big help to your team.
- If the enemy Beater is harassing you, communicate with your Beater for assistance. However, don’t switch to a Chaser, because a dead Keeper can mean losing 10 to 20 points.
These are basic rules, but I think they’re great for encouraging teamwork. This way, matches are more enjoyable, and you don’t end up frustrated by things that can be avoided.
