Honkai: Star Rail – Amicassador of Sky-Fairing Commission / Tingyun Guide

Tingyun Guide

All credit goes to Lynman Alpha!

Once we arrived in Xianzhou Luofu, she was the one who personally welcomed us at one of the flagships of the Hexafleet. Tingyun is a young Foxian, a humanoid race in the Xianzhou Alliance with vulpine features, who is the amicassador of the Sky-Faring Commission and Head Representative of the Whistling Flame. She is already available for Stellar Warp but is one of the featured four-star characters under Jing Yuan’s banner. If you want to build her, here is the character guide for Tingyun.

Combat Utilities

Tingyun is considered to be one of the best Support in Honkai: Star Rail since she is able to give ATK% buff to the party members using her combat utility while generating energy for a single ally.

When playing her in your team party, it is best to give all of the buffs to your Main DPS since they will benefit the most. Some people already said that she is the equivalent of Bennett in Genshin Impact because of her kit.

  • Ultimate > Skill > Talent > Basic

Basic Attack | Dislodged

Tingyun deals Lightning DMG, which is equal to a certain percentage of her ATK to a single target. You will use it if your team party is low on skill points. Remember that it generates 20 Energy for herself when you use it.

Skill Attack | Soothing Melody

Her skill grants a single ally with Benediction to increase their ATK by a certain percentage, up to 15 – 30% of her current ATK. When her ally with Benediction attacks, they will deal Additional Lightning DMG equal to some percentage of their ATK for one time. The effect lasts for three turns and is only effective on the most recent receiver of her skill.

This is her important skill to prioritize since it will give a huge ATK% buff that scales from Tingyun’s current ATK. That’s why it is important to invest heavily in ATK% when building her. The higher her current ATK and her talent level, the higher the ATK% buff that she can bring to your Main DPS. Take note that since you will be using her Skill most of the time, it will consume your Skill Points. Make sure that you have one or two characters that will replenish your Skill Points.

In addition, when used, it generates 30 energy for herself.

Ultimate | Amidst the Rejoicing Clouds

When you use her Ultimate, it regenerates 50 Energy for a single ally and increases the target’s DMG by a certain percentage for two turns. Her ultimate is essential since it will drastically increase the current Energy of your single ally. Depending on the combat situation, you can use her Ultimate to cast the Ultimate of another single ally to heal your team, to provide a shield, or to deal with high damage output. Use her Ultimate accordingly. Remember that it costs 130 energy and it generates five energy when you cast it.

Talent | Violet Sparknado

When an enemy is attacked by Tingyun, the ally with Benediction immediately deals Additional Lightning DMG equal to a certain percentage of that ally’s ATK to the same enemy. It will only activate when an enemy attacks Tingyun through the enemy’s skill or taunt.

Technique | Gentle Breeze

When you use her Technique, she will immediately regenerate 50 energy. This is great when you want to use her Ultimate at the start of the battle.

Character Ascension

Ascending Tingyun up to level 80 requires you to get these materials:

  • 12 Immortal Scionette
  • 13 Immortal Aeroblossom
  • 12 Immortal Lumintwig
  • 50 Lightning Crown of the Past Shadow
  • 248,400 Credits
  • 5,797,920 Experience Points

Utility Ascension

Maxing all of Tingyun’s combat utility (Basic ATK to 6, Skill, Ultimate, and Talent to 10) will require the abovementioned materials.

Remember that the amount will change depending on your talent prioritization.

Eidolons

Tingyun is already a great Support for your team at E0. She is able to provide an excellent ATK% buff and Energy Regeneration to your team from the get-go. Her Eidolons will increase her capability even further; hence, if you want to invest in her, you can get her Eidolons. Remember to spend your money wisely.

E2 – Gainfully Gives, Givingly Gains

Her E2 will regenerate 5 Energy once the ally with Benediction defeats an Enemy. This is a great Eidolon to have, especially if you want your Main DPS to use her Ultimate again. Usually, this is your stopping point if you only care to increase your Energy Regeneration. Remember, this effect is only triggered once per turn.

E4 – Jovial Versatility

Her E4 increases the DMG multiplier by Benediction by 20%. This is a great increase since your Main DPS would exhibit a much higher damage output when they use their Skill/Ultimate.

E6 – Peace Brings Wealth to All

Her last Eidolon regenerates ten more energy for the target ally when she uses her Ultimate. This is not sound as much when you look at it, but the additional ten energy is a great addition since her Ultimate can generate a huge amount of Energy.

Traces

Here are the upgrades that you can use when upgrading your talents. Be sure to follow the same prioritization in his combat utilities.

Light Cones

Tingyun uses The Harmony light cones in order to support her team more efficiently. Here is the list of the recommended light cones for her.

  • Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds – Tingyun’s signature light cone and the best-in-slot light cone that can be used on her. This light cone will continuously buff your entire team, either their ATK%, Crti DMG, or Energy Regeneration Rate. Even though it will apply randomly whenever Tingyun makes a move, all of them are beneficial for your team. This light cone is only available at Nameless Honor. If you plan to get a Battle Pass, this is the recommended light cone to get and to superimpose since it will benefit not just Tingyun but other Harmony characters as well.
  • But the Battle Isn’t Over – Bronya’s signature light cone that can be used as an alternative light cone to Tingyun. It increases her Energy Regeneration rate, which in turn, would help the other team to fill their Energy. This is great when you want to use your Main DPS Ultimate as much as possible.
  • Dance! Dance! Dance! – One of the recommended light cones for Tingyun since all of the team’s action will be Advanced Forward by 16%, ensuring that they will attack first before the enemy. When you plan to use this light cone, you must invest heavily in SPD and ER%.
  • Past and Future – Yukong’s signature light cone can be used as an alternative light cone to Tingyun. Since most of the time, she will use her Skill, increasing the DMG of the next ally taking action by 16% for one turn. Be sure that you will have a higher SPD than your Main DPS to use its passive.
  • Memories of the Past – A lovely photo of Bronya and Cocolia, this light cone is one of your alternative four-star light cones for Tingyun since it will regenerate additional energy for herself. Since some of her attacks will deal with Additional Lightning DMG to the enemy, you can make use of the Break Effect percentage if the enemy that you are fighting has Lightning Weakness on them.
  • Chorus – This is the recommended light cone for her since it increases all of the ATK of your team party after entering the battle throughout the combat. This light cone, alongside her Skill, is a great compatibility for her. Be sure to superimpose this light cone to increase the ATK% buff even more.

Relics

Since Tingyun’s ATK% buff scales on her current ATK%, you can only use Musketeer of Wild Wheat to increase her ATK%. Her relic main stat is already displayed above. Please be guided accordingly.

Planar Ornaments

You have two options for her Planar Ornaments.

  • Space Sealing Station – to increase this ATK by 12%, which is usually the recommended one.
  • Sprightly Vonwacq – to increase the Energy Regeneration Rate by 5%, which also useful for her.

Team Recommendation

Tingyun works well in all of your team compositions that you may think of. This is why I highly recommend you experiment with various team compositions available in your account.

You may use the team recommendation in the infographics, but it may change depending on the availability of the character of your account.
