Make Everyone Hate You with Ronan the Clogger!

With Cannonball coming to the spotlight, figured I’d share my favorite (and most obnoxious) deck. Our goal is full clog, both on the board and our opponent’s hand!
Turns 1-4 set the stage for the clog. Ideally by the end of T4, we have at least 1 lane clogged and 1 limited. White Widow, Debrii, Green Goblin, and Doc Ock are our main cloggers in these early turns. Viper is also key, although I prefer to save her for T4 to send over Hood or a Rock. I really don’t like to play Hood unless Viper is in hand, you have a way to get rid of him by a location, or you’re planning to throw a lane. If you don’t draw Widow, Master Mold and Iceman help with early hand disruption that can slow down the opponent.
T5 & 6 are where we build power. Ronan can win us a lane, or Cannonball comes in clutch to eliminate a big threat or disrupt a play line (like Onslaught on Patriot, for example). It’s also where we can drop our cheap power, like Demon or Maximus (which also buffs Ronan!). Maximus should be saved for the end to prevent the extra draws from helping the opponent.
This deck tends to handle most archetypes well, although it really shines against Tribunal and Negative. Destroy is usually an auto-retreat, and Zoo can be iffy depending how well you’re able to clog.
For Series 4 or 5 substitutions, Cassandra Nova can easily be subbed for Polaris or just a good 3-cost in general, but I find her helpful against Arishem and Thanos decks for the cheap power. Cannonball could be replaced with Sersi since we want him as a lane-winner; Carnage could also work to help clear out our side, but I wouldn’t feel as good about that. White Widow is irreplaceable unfortunately.
