Metaloid: Origin – All Big Gems, Collectible Upgrades, & Aeon Locations

This guide will help you find all big gems, collectible upgrades, and hidden Aeon locations in game. Note that while big gem locations are shown in order, collectible upgrades and Aeon locations are not, so you have to keep an eye out for them. Missing them on your first run is not a big deal since you can replay any level whenever you want, though.

Meta Forest

The first big gem that you’ll notice will be the one on top, behind this shielded enemy. It’s pretty easy to find.

The second one is also pretty straightforward and out in the open. You can’t miss it.

For the third one, you’ll have to enter through here…

…and it will be sitting at the end of the section.

The fourth one is also not too difficult to find. Just stick to the upper sections and you’ll notice it here.

Same can be said about the final one. It can be missable but make sure you stick to the upper sections and you’ll eventually find it sitting in here.

For the Energy Recycle upgrade, you’ll have to take the path on the left here…

…and it will be sitting at the end of it.

Toxin Swamp

The first one is pretty easy to find, but it is also easy to miss since it’s buried in the mud.

The second one is a bit tricky to get. You have to carry this box to the other side using this moving platform to get to the upper side…

…and it will be sitting here.

The third one is missable. Just before you go to the next screen, take the upper left side and you will be able to get it using this trampoline.

The fourth one is also buried in the mud, but it is out in the open.

The final one is also easy to find if you have a habit of following every section to the end.

The collectible upgrade in this level is a bit tricky to get. You have to carry this box around to make it to the top by using sewer springs…

…and your Ogre Drive will be here. You have to solve a simple puzzle to get it, though.

Captured Armory

To get the first big gem and your collectible upgrade, you have to go down through here…

…and your first big gem will be sitting at the end of the left side.

The second one is easy to find if you stick to the upper sections.

The third one requires air dash to reach, but you won’t be able to collect it as Neva nonetheless. Unless you have a free air movement that is.

To get the fourth one, just before this screen, you have to take the upper side to reach it. You can’t collect it from where I’m standing.

The final one is behind a metal box. You have to activate the magnetic field to expose it.

Nano Armor is at the end of the right side where you enter to get the first big gem.

Desolation Desert

To get the first big gem in this level, you the need double jump or free air movement ability unless you can find another way to reach it. It is located in the first screen.

To get the second one, you have to take the lower path while playing the first bike driving section and it will be here. To reach the lower path, you have to jump down from the chasm with your bike and slighty move to right, you’ll eventually land on solid surface.

I believe the third one is also located in the first bike driving section. You have to stick to the upper side for this one.

The fourth one is pretty easy to find. You can’t miss it.

And the final one is located in the final bike driving section. Stick to the upper side and go slow, you’ll eventually see it.

To get the collectible upgrade, you have to go through here…

…and your Soulrium Safe will be at the end of it.

Here comes our first hidden Aeon location! A huge thanks to TGHoly, the lead developer of Metaloid: Origin for this one! Once you initiate the final bike driving section, stick to the upper side and enter through here…

…and he’ll be waiting for you.

Volcanic Mine

You can’t miss the first one if you stick to the lower sections.

The second one is missable. Stick to the upper sections after the first screen and you’ll find it.

The third one is in the place where you find the hidden upgrade in this level. See the hidden upgrade location to learn how to get there. It is also hidden behind a gem rock which gives lots of soulriums when you destroy.

The fourth one is hidden behind a volcanic rock that can be destroyed with the help of a certain rocket-like enemy.

And the final one is up here. You need to ride the minecart to get there.

To get the collectible upgrade, you need to ride a minecart here…

…and Pick Axe will be waiting for you in the upper section. It’s dark, you may have a hard time navigating through here but you’ll eventually make it.

Northern Base

The first one is pretty easy to find, but you need to use this enemy to destroy the ice blocks to grab it.

The second one is also very easy to find. You can’t miss it.

The third one is right behind the enemy that is clearly a reference to Star Wars. You can’t miss it when you see it.

The fourth one requires the double jump or free air movement, or I could be wrong. Stick to the upper side, you’ll eventually stumble upon it.

The final gem is in the Launch Octopus section. Stick to the upper side and you’ll find it.

To get your collectible upgrade in this level, you need to use air dash and land here…

…and grab that Fusion Battery.

Aeon anyone? Yeah, he’s in here too. Once you make it to a section where you need to go down vertically, keep an eye out for the left side and enter through here…

…and kick his butt!
