Peglin – Quick Guide to Good Tree Event

Overanalysis on Good Tree

By Concentrication (and die).

This event is good. You have a bad start, almost dead in forest, then this event shows up. Very good heal, keeps you alive. You’re at full health, you see this event, it’s still good because you can get max health! Really good event, always good, always glad to see it.

The first option in this event, heal 25, is really only a heal 18. A heal 18 is still really good though. A heal 18 can make you live longer, let’s you greed more, makes you not die to stupid events, but can also let you be safer and go for more shops/chests because with the heal you know you can beat the boss so you can go for less fights and more relics. Also, this heal could solve your boss, make it so that your deck is strong enough with the extra health, so that you can focus on getting ready for the aoe checks in castle. Overall, this option is always good, always safe, can easily save a dying run, good for greeding, just overall a really good option and a really good heal.

The second option, +7 max hp, is also really good. It heals 7, which is decent for forest, and it holds future value. Events become safer as you have a buffer, ingot gets better, healing gets better, basically everything percentage based gets better. Max hp gets much better if you have more, so stuff like apple get better if you take this. Just like the heal, it also gives a buffer, but instead of it only being for forest, it applies to the other acts too. Having 92 health is good too, as some annoying fights deal damage in hits of 5 or 10. Having that extra 2 hp can give you another turn, and toadem actually has a ton of value if you take this option. Getting to 96 or 100 max hp breaks more thresholds, such as the archer fight in castle or turned knight. Overall, if you don’t desperately need the heal from the other option, you should take the max hp. Even if the heal gives the full 18 heal, it doesn’t do anything if you wouldn’t lose that health anyway.

This third option, leave, don’t consider it at all. I believe this event is the only one where it is 100% wrong to skip. There are probably some events where you always skip, such as the fireball event (the infernorbs are always level 1 wtf) or the orbelisk event where you always feed the pebball, but I can’t think of any other event where you never skip it. Even the forge event. The forge event isn’t an always take. The forge can indirectly kill you sometimes. Sometimes that 4 hp is necessary if you want to live.

Getting back on track, sometimes I see this argument. “Oh but what about monster training?” What if I told you that you don’t need it active all the time? The heal gives you more health, more time to damage before you die, additional damage that you wouldn’t have gotten if you skipped, no downside to it. The max hp probably won’t put you above the threshold, so why would you not take it? It’s a 7 heal with future value, really good, and you want to skip over it?

Guess what: monster training is a relic that saves you when you need it! Low health>need to end fights asap>training is active. If you heal and you’re at ~40, that’s like half health, and training will activate when you need it again. I seriously don’t see why you would ever skip this event unless you’re doing a challenge.

I hope you found this useful!
