Unfortunately We Failed to Fetch an Essential Asset Error Solution

All credit goes to Arthur Morgan!

I had this problem a few days ago and this was the solution for me.

  • Step 1: Press Win+R to open the run box dialog. Type cmd and press enter.
  • Step 2: Next, type ipconfig /release (make sure to include the space) and press Enter.
    • Type ipconfig /renew (include the space) and press Enter. Close the prompt to exit.
  • Step 3: Restart your PC.

Now you should be able to open the launcher and play the game.

I hope this helps.

  1. Unfortunately didnt work for me. Cant figure out what has gone wrong. checked issues with one drive. reinstalled the launcher and social club aswell as verify game files and gone as far as creating a new account. Yet my other laptop runs it fine. just one day it completely stopped working and started giving me this code.
