Stormgate – Vanguard Bob-Creeping for Fast Tech

Vanguard Bob-Creeping Build Guide

By uprjfvwMnT.

This build relies on creeping a camp with a big ooze (❤️) as fast as possible in order to get the 80 therium that it drops and then leverage it to tech up as fast as possible. Since camps give so many resources in the current patch, pulling bobs to creep is actually not an economic downfall – you can view it as the bobs just gathering resources in a different way (well it depends a lot on the map, since walking distance to camps slows you down of course).

On the other hand, using repair and the starting dog you can creep basically any health, energy or watch tower camp right at the start of the game. In the attached replay I am opting for a fast hornet into graven build, which is arguably a bit experimental. I lost the concrete game, but it’s just meant as a proof of concept. You can use the build as a starting point for a fast tech of your choice.

For example, I also like to use this as a method to get my dog upgrade as fast as possible in VvV where I then skip the T3 of course.

Build:

  • At the start of the game instantly pull 3 bobs and dog towards energy camp.
  • Keep bob production up and never queue more than one.
  • Build barracks as soon as possible (usually while the first bob is in the queue).
  • Once your fantastic four arrive at the energy camp, attack with the dog and attack move with the bobs while having them on auto repair.
  • Once the first big slime is down, you can start attacking with 1-2 bobs and don’t need to repair with all three anymore.
  • At this point put two bobs on therium to mine the remaining 20 for T2 tech.
  • You can build a depot at any point that you want, since you will be teching up before reaching 15 supply anyway.
  • While teching up, put 6 bobs on therium.
  • While teching up, creep a health camp.

That’s it, you should reach T2 with around 400 resources at 2:20

I hope you found this helpful!
