The Outlast Trials – How to Change the Field of View

A simple way to modify the game’s Field of View inside the client config files.

Guide to Change FOV

Accessing the Client Config Files

To find the config files, first press your windows key + r. This will open the run menu.

Enter in “%localappdata%” this will take you to your local appdata directory.

Next, you’re going to want to go to this directory from where you are

  • AppData\Local\OPP\Saved\Config\WindowsClient.

You are now inside the config files directory, the file you will be editing is Game.ini

Editing the Config File

Now that you are inside game.ini, you need to enter in these lines.

[/script/opp.rbsettings_gameplay]
DefaultFOV=110.000000
AimingFOV=110.000000

The number value is your desired FOV, by default it is 90.0.

Once changed, save the file and load up the game, you will now see your new field of view.

    • Then you are either looking in the wrong place, or need to manually add the Game.ini file for whatever reason.

  1. just modify the regular “game” file, doesn’t have to have .ini in it lol worked for me just fine

  2. Asked in the official discord if this was bannable, and this was their reply. “Unless specified by a member of the team in a ticket, do not modify .ini files. This may cause all sorts of unexpected behavior and will make troubleshooting harder.” Just want to give a heads up and fair warning to all who do it just in case. After that reply I’m good.

    • This wont cause any real problems, you’re just changing the cameras FOV. They’re likely talking about other stuff you can modify in there that WILL break shit.

  3. I’m having trouble getting it to work, so there are the files “Game, GameplayTags, and GameUserSettings”. I would assume that it is the “Game” file but when I click it its an empty page. Am I I supposed to add that script to the empty page? When I do this my fov stays the same. Please help and thanks.

    • You are supposed to add the lines to Game.ini, if its the same FOV after you add the lines then you’ve done it wrong.
