A brief guide to cashing in Daily Challenges during Early Access.

Introduction

Daily Challenges are a great incentive for you to play with different combinations of cards. For instance, you might receive a challenge to play a certain number of Preparation cards, or to complete a number of quests with a Lore hero. Each time you complete a challenge, you will receive a small number of Valor Points (up to 100, from what I’ve seen).

As of this writing (1st September 2018), however, there is a known issue with the Daily Challenge system. Currently, Daily Challenges do not leave your in-tray as you complete them. As you can only have three Daily Challenges at once, this means that you can get challenge-blocked.

In this brief guide, I’ll show you a work-around you can use to get new challenges while the developers hunt down the gremlins in the system.

Completing Challenges

First things first. You aren’t getting fleeced out of your hard earned Valor Points!

When you complete a challenge during a quest, you will get a notification message after the quest is completed (or failed). The game will automatically add the Valor Point reward to your total.

But… the challenge will still be in your in-tray. So how do we get it the heck out of there?
Getting New Daily Challenges
To get new Daily Challenges, click on the exclamation mark button in the bottom left corner of the main screen. This will take you to your challenge in-tray.

In the top right corner of each quest, there should be a small red ‘x’button. This will swap out that challenge for a new one.

Note: You can only use this feature once a day. When you have swapped out a challenge, the red ‘x’ buttons will disappear until you can use them again.

Once the challenge system is working properly, you’ll be able to use this feature to swap out challenges that don’t tickle your fancy. But for now, you’re best off using it on completed quests.

What If That Doesn’t Work?

Sometimes you will find that your challenges do not complete as expected. In particular, the game doesn’t always register that you have satisfied the conditions of a challenge.

If this happens to you… congratulations! You have found one of the bugs the developers are currently tracking down. You can help the team out by reporting this bug on the Steam Discussion board, or using the in-game support button (the little speech icon in the bottom right corner of the Settings screen).

Fixing the Daily Challenge system is one of the team’s top priorities right now, as it is one of the ways players can earn Valor Points, so every bug report helps.
