With Pyros bringing insane heat and Berserkers swinging huge double axes everywhere, how does a Beastmaster with a couple forest friends survive such onslaught?

The answer is: easy!
Ensure everything misses by stacking loads of blind. Food Bowl (Beastmaster’s class item) allows Light Gooberts and pets to activate twice 30% of the time. Each Lucky Pig increases these odd by 4.5% allowing for huge stacks to amass.

Weapon not required as forest friends scale really well to activate goobers of all types. However, I’d encourage Light Goober to be made first to get to later rounds.
Rats apply poison & blind while Squirrels steal all the opponent’s buffs really quickly. Hedgehogs are decent but I don’t see them performing nearly as well as Rats or Squirrels. However, I’d encourage Light Goober to be made first to get to later rounds.
My biggest challenge playing beastmaster is that shop keep giving me Hedgehogs
