Useful Tips and Tricks for Noobs
General Tips
- Don’t be afraid to explore and expand your castle! Getting more resources in the early game makes it easier to survive later on.
- Always build walls with vertical stones, gives overall higher hp of the entire wall. Wide blocks will just give a bigger area for enemies to attack a single block which will collapse your wall faster.
- You can build walls whilst time is paused, unlike other buildings.
- Have bow men target the deadliest enemies while lobbers nearest. Also make a second forward wall in front of the big one for ideal lobber height.
Having your bottom bricks be Purple is the most beneficial thing you can do. A layout like this accomplishes that, and also allows for ideal placement of lobbers and archers at different heights. Is there’s one tip that will help you, it’s that (purple HP bricks).
You need to know that some defenses will fall, and focus your strategy on what is beater, you want a lot of different layers you could relay on? Or just one layer that can take the hit? both strategy’s are good, and have there wakens. Examples…
This is a big Fu walls they will take a lot of hits, a lot of places where I can put my army and in general they are in places that if they enter the monsters will be inside my base, so I nead to have a big defenses there.
And in other places you can put walls that probably they will get destroy and in general is just to get time or just to have a defense, if you are not sure they will atack over there, they will get you the time you need and because are a lot of layers if one get destroy you don’t lose your all your defenses. And even you could get more of them if you want to focus grate amount of your army in just one point.
Booth ways are in general a good way to play, and I bet in different situations will one will be beter than the other. Is just something could consider when you are building walls. And seeing the map in genera.
How to Clear The Map with Just Starting Units
If you just f*ck around on the map and garb resource salvages, you can completely bypass the typical RTS build order in this game. One pile of wood is worth 200, which is halve of your capcity, and it will takes ages to grow from building sawmills and huts. You can quickly kick start your production by just grabbing those, allowing you to focus on building defense. There are almost enough resources to support your entire run if you are carful and only collect them when you have room for them.
- Use iris’s lightning bolt ability of course, it’s extremely powerful against large groups. Just remember to wait for the cooldown before engaging.
Even if you get cocky and bite more than you can chew, don’t panic.
- Your units can outrun most of the enemies, so you can kite most of the threats away on the map. But if anything goes wrong, just run. Don’t let them bite you, if your units keep running, even the fastest enemies cannot damage them.
You will encounter those big scary ones eventually, but don’t worry, just run straight to the top of the citadel. There are stairs that only your units can climb, the enemies will just attack the citadel instead. Let the citadel take the damage, you need to preserve your fighting power so you can dispose of them quickly.
- Recycling is free, so if you are tired of running to the citadel all the time, you can build a temporary fortress anytime you like, and recycle it when you’re done with the business. Hogardians sure are good at playing fortnight!
But if you have some metal, you can just spam some flags in front of your units for the horrors to chew on. The flags have more hp than your units, and the metal does nothing in the late game except for spamming flags, you won’t miss them later. They also boost the damage of your units, as if it’s not cheesy enough!
