Frostpunk 2 – How to Extend Your Coal Supply

Extending Your Coal Supply to Last Decades

Frostland: In Frostpunk 2, it’s important to explore the world map early in the game. There are free resources scattered around that can really help you at the beginning. For example, there’s a lot of coal in the Frozen Ocean and The Graveyard areas. The areas near your city also have coal mines.

Heating Hubs: These use materials instead of fuel to produce heat. This is useful because fuel is hard to find early on. You can use multiple heating hubs in one area to increase heat, but remember that extra heat is wasted. Turn them off in warm weather to save materials.

Charcoal Plant: This building lets you make coal from material deposits in your city. Try to use resources from the world map first, then build charcoal plants to get the most coal possible.

Hidden Events: Some laws and buildings become more powerful if a problem in your city lasts too long. For example:

  • Community Service Law can provide more heating if people are cold for a long time.
  • Dense Housing can fit more people if there’s not enough housing for a while.

Homelessness: It’s actually necessary to have some homeless people. If you try to house everyone, your population will grow too fast and use up all your resources.

Overdrive: Keep this on as much as possible. In this game, it makes your generator use fuel more efficiently. Just remember to let it cool down between uses.
