Jupiter Hell – Bloody Vampyre Guide 1.7

It’s more fun than Diablo 4.

Guide to Bloody Vampyre Build

Introduction

The marine melee mastery. It is actually really good and personally, the best melee mastery in the game. The change to allow Vampyre to overheal makes this build consistently win if you play it right and getting lucky with drops helps.

Build Order and Trait Discussion

  1. Hellrunner.
  2. Hellrunner.
  3. Iron Man.
  4. Rip and Tear 1.
  5. Vampyre.
  6. Rip and Tear 2/Hellrunner 3.
  7. Rip and Tear 2/Hellrunner 3.
  8. Tough as Nails.
  9. Tough as Nails.
  10. Tough as Nails.
  11. Furious.
  12. Running.
  13. Running.
  14. Running.
  15. /17. Ironman/Vampyre/Covermaster.

My recommendation is to get Vampyre at level 6. The health regen, Hellrunner 2/3, and solid fundamentals should aid you in surviving Europa until you get a good melee weapon.

Tough as Nails is important because you will experience pain from melee combat.

The other important trait is Running 3 to close in against ranged enemies in the end and for evasion purposes.

Afterwards, Vampyre 3 is the default finish but you can take alternatives. Ironman 3 is recommended if your armor blew up and you have no other way of bleed resist. Covermaster maybe useful if you are struggling against enemies with AoE damage (medusa, warlocks, sentinels).

Callisto

Recommended branches in order:

  • Rift: Poison Immunity will pay off in Io/Dante.
  • Mimir: Can craft AV2 machetes at MDF central but no guarantee you will get good perks with the limited number of multitools at this point. (Ambush 20/Hunter 20/Rush 20/Frenzy 20).
  • Valhalla Terminal: You armor will take heavy beatings so it is actually defensible to pick this option especially considering that your damage output will depend on Rip and Tear 2, not critical chance. You also get noticeably more experience after getting the 3 blue cards and shutting down Warden, which means you melee build comes online faster.

Avoid the others. Since you will get Tough as Nails 3, there is no reason to go to the dangerous Callisto Mines for the warlock eye relic.

Europa

Make sure to grab the free machete in the silver chest by the elevator of Europa L1 if you don’t have a melee weapon yet.

  • Asterius Habitat: Can craft AV2 machetes at the end but a lot of fighting with robots. Micromanaging the AH sentries can be painful on respawning difficulties.
  • Conamara Chaos Biolabs: AVOID unless you got a very good AV2 machete at Mimir or found an Axe. Even then, very risky if you open the acid valve and get very bad spawns. Note that you if get pain immunity, you will lose out the Retaliate bonus damage.
  • Europa Dig Zone: The best option. Can craft AV2 machetes in Tyre Outpost and even use the multitools from the tech statation to reroll perks if you need to.
  • Europa Ruins: You can use the heart because most of the time, you will head to Shadow Halls at Io.
  • Refueling Base: If you at least a 60 damage melee weapon (including machetes with Ambush/Hunter/Rush 20), it is doable. ENV armor is the big prize.
  • The Pit: Easy level.

Io

Make sure to grab the Katana at Io L1 if you don’t have a better weapon by now.

At this point, you should be looking for an AV3 AMP for melee and the only two options that can give you this is Shadow Halls or Io Black Site. Io Black Site needs 3 red keycards and you can reroll the advance per on the AV3 Melee amp.

Most of the time, you will be in Shadow Halls because you didn’t get the red keycards or Io Black Site was not available.

If you are struggling, you can skip to the Io Warehouse/Infernal lock.

The M. Mines can work if you are already poison resistant.

Avoid the CRI labs unless you have a chainsaw.

Dante

Dante Vestibule:

Kill any enemy with a melee weapon to open the portal to the Shatter Abyss, which is where you actually started. This is really important because you want the Soulstealer. I guess it is theoretically possible to win without it, but why take the risk.

The Shattered Abyss:

Normal reaver packs will be easy, use Running against Archreavers. Use your stimpacks and other health items if you need to against the Swordmaster.

Dante L2, Inferno, and L3:

You should start killing everything with the Soulstealer to build up it’s power. Make sure you clear Dante Inferno just to feed Soulstealer kills. If you see an enemy, use Running at this point.

Harbringer:

If you want to avoid the possible 100 damage at phase change from 1 to 2, finish phase 1 with a ranged weapon or grenades.

Gear and Perks

For amor, Meshed (power) is the most important perk. Bleed will lower your accuracy through pain and and deal a lot of damage over time if you are fighting against multiple enemies that can apply bleed. Standard Durable (bulk) and Swift (accuracy) fill out the rest.

  • 7.62 Rifle: Speed-loader (bulk), Calibrate 1 (accuracy), auto-calibrate, and one wildcard.
  • Plasma Rifle: Speed-loader (bulk), and autocalibrate, and 2 wildcards.
  • Bladed weapons: Retaliate (accuracy) is the biggest priority. Tough as Nails 3 will negate pain penalty to aim, but it will be there still. Retaliate is converting that pain to a damage buff, which will help if you are using yellow bladed weapons.
  • Axe/Large Axe/Chainshaw: the base damage is high but these weapon have no base melee guard so Guard 10 (bulk) then Retaliate (accuracy).

Melee amps from drops are rare but look for the ones with the Retaliate perk.

Gameplay Tips

Don’t worry about the max HP loss from Medusa since you will get it back with the Soulstealer.

Hoard multitools to repair amor in the late game. You can live with one ammo stack or two once your build gets going.

Keep a spare power mod pack in your inventory in case you find a Duramesh or Necrotic Armor in the end.
