King’s Bounty: Armored Princess – Basic Tips

Tips to Basics

Basics

Map generation is very random, and the skills/equipment are also very random. Most of the campaign is making choices battle by battle, cheesing the spells you find, and choosing when to explore different maps. There aren’t many situations where you’re FORCED into a difficult battle, just leave the map and look for easier prey.

A Few Tips That Might Help

  • Try to unlock medals as quickly as possible. This is a grind, especially for “cast spell 2million times” medals. The “+leadership for flawless battles” is a major early game boost.
  • Find a way to use dragon abilities and spells every turn. Don’t let a turn go by without doing something with these resources. Early game it’s mostly about grinding out medals, but the dragon treasure search helps a decent amount for finding early game spells.
  • Avoid casualties. This is needed for medals, but money always has a place to be useful. Summons are free and do NOT count as casualties. Early game has a royal thorn that can spawn meat shield thorns. Mid game dwarves get special machines that can repair and resurrect damaged machines. Each hero class has different approaches to avoiding casualties in late game, from the warrior max resistances+dragon spam, the paladin “ressurrect any one stack so their injuries don’t matter”(doesn’t work on medal), and the mage “go back in time to when you weren’t injured”.
  • Percent resistances add up in a BIG way. A troop with 30% physical resist can get 20% more from hero gear, plus 5% from medals, and +40% from tier3 stoneskin, to get 95% physical resist. Yeah, that’s 20x life compared to 1.43x life! Caution does not directly add up, it brings a unit 0.7x times closer to 100% physical resist, which is still pretty potent.
  • Try to focus on a few high level dragon skills, rather than spreading out. Crushing blow and mana orb have some utility for most of the game, while many damage skills get replaced by more powerful skills.
  • Save often! A single bad battle won’t brick your campaign, but taking major damage over many fights will add up. Try battles over again, try different tricks and aim to get as much profit as possible. In hard mode you should be able to have the majority of fights be flawless, a handful of really nasty blood baths, and a decent amount of scratch damage here or there.
