This guide goes into brief detail on how to make a gun from crafting parts.

Getting Started

You need a workbench to craft a gun. Workbenches can be bought from Sgt. Lake’s Outpost in the orange vending machine or looted from containers around the world. The workbench must be placed inside a house or tent.

Finding Crafting Ingredients

To craft a gun you will need Metal Parts, a Stock, a Kit, and a Barrel. In the low level loot areas there will likely be Assault Rifle and Shotgun Kits, so we will use an Assault Rifle kit as an example. If you’re not sure how to craft a certain gun, buy a Crafting Book from Sgt. Lake’s.

Metal Parts

Metal Parts are not craftable, they may only be found in loot containers or Julia’s Mysterious Shop. They could be purchased from a James’ General Store if someone has sold it in that machine.

Stock

You will need a Wooden Stock. This is not a craftable item, but it is more common than Metal Parts and may be quicker to loot.

Kit

The Assault Rifle Kit is not craftable but is commonly found in loot, similar to stocks and barrels.

Barrel

You will need a Long Barrel for your Assault Rifle. They are not craftable but appear often in loot.

Finishing Steps

Click on your workbench and add the parts to the menu by clicking on them in your inventory. It should look like this.

Click on the AR that appears beneath the ingredients to claim your weapon and destroy the ingredients. You now have a gat. If only you had ammo…
