Some tips that might help you with the game.

Tips and Tricks

Сrеdit gоеs to Vcio!

This guide is my experience playing this game. It’s focused on Bloody Whiskers mode, the tips work for all modes.

Choosing Difficulty

Don’t bother with Bloody Whiskers unless you are going for the achievement(or you are a masochist), it’s a fantastic game that plays well in normal and easy mode, but it feels like it wasn’t balanced for BW.

Gameplay Tips

How to swing 2 handed axe

You need to use a charged attack. Hold the attack button down until the attack is fully charged then release it. You’ll need to do that three times to break down a door / barrier.

And you’ll need to do the same 3-hit thing with any 2h weapon whenever anything more than vines is blocking your path.

Although you only get a hint when you first get the 2h axe, charged 2h attacks can also break enemies’ guard. It even works with some bosses. The downside is that the wind up time is relatively long.

Resistance explained

Resistance seems to add a little bit of melee defense against that species.

Here’s me taking one drop attack from Mozi King while having 0 Mozi Resistance

and here’s me having the same Defense but 2/3 Mozi Resistance.

Interestingly enough, ranged attacks aren’t affected.

How to beat Shield Maiden

It’s an endurance fight, be patient and only attack after she attacks. Try to finish the first phase ASAP, there, she is using her most dangerous attack the most – the fast red attack where you have to be super close to her in order to be able to dodge through it.

Tips That Goes for All Bosses

Don’t be greedy with attacks, it takes you many hits to drop a boss but it only takes 2 to 3 to kill you in full health. And you will die a lot, So…

You will need to memorize the bosses’ attacks and anticipate them, you won’t be able to react to most of them if you get caught in a bad spot on the screen. So…

Be light on weight, you will move faster and the defense difference from heavy armor it’s not that good, you don’t want to get hit at all.

Here is a complain, some hitboxes are f*ed, you think you are safe because of the animation but the hitboxes are devicious bigger.

If you are stuck in any boss i highly recommend Tremorism youtube videos, it has helped a ton with some bosses.

Bosses that gave me trouble(and some tips to deal with them)

The Mozi King

This will probably be your first wall in BW, stay glued to it and dash behind it when it starts an attack, you will take damage if you are not in the right spot when it begins an attack animation. Also spear attacks tend to whiff due to his height from the floor, so use a sword or axe

The Mozi Queen

Same issue with spears, stay in the middle of the screen and dash behind when it does the butt swing and dash again before it starts the second one.

Stalker

This boss is fast so you will have a few times to safely heal, stay glued to him and dodge behind when he attacks or parry it if you are confident. His puke hitbox is bigger than the animation. Also when he goes in the ceiling watch out when he drops and lifts its head from the floor the area damage is bigger than it appears.

Green Wart

  1. In first phase stay close to him, watch out for the stomp attack, his other attacks should be no problem to avoid if close.
  2. In the second phase Stay in the middle of the screen, wait for him to throw his spear then attack him a few times then dodge the following stomp attack. Before he throw his spear he will jump to one of the corners this does no damage but will yeet you, in my game the spear attack hitted me before i could raise my shield getting me stun locked for 3 full attacks looking at youtube people managed to defend the spear so perhaps a problem with my copy.
  3. In the third phase, as soon as he transforms close in, he should start with a green puke, go behind and give a few hits, when he swings and lands in a corner, attack him. When he jumps in the air dash forward to avoid the tongue and stomp.
