You do have to CLEAR 10 unsafe zones which includes but is probably not limited to:

• You have to Chop trees down completely.
• Take every piece out of salvageable cars.
• Interact with any darkzones Cody has in that tile.
• Kill every enemy.
• Help every non hostile asking for help.
• Interact with every lootable container/car/whatever loot item (you dont have to grab loot, just open container).
• Fish every hole (Sometimes multiple times i think).
• Cody has to find every secret loot pile.
• Cody has to also have the ability to find Herbs if you want to clear any area with herbs.

Basically everything. The notable few things that I don’t think you have to do:

• Hunting crows/rabbits.
• breaking random logs/pallets.
• hiding spots (FYI hiding spots seem to have a high chance for good loot so I’d probably check them any time you’re not trying to run this gauntlet).

This means when you’re going out you want to bring:

• Food/Meds for yourself and survivor quests.
• Lockpicks.
• Fishing Rod.

Probably multiple wooden pallets so you can build in some situations?

Multiple weapons/Ammo for extended combats

• Crowbar

Other tip

You can see how many unsafe areas you’ve cleared in the top left of your screen. it shows as a little green pip. It will pop up as soon as you officially CLEAR a tile, so you know before you leave.

I’m probably missing some things, but that’s a general outline of my mental notes.

I’d recommend doing this when you have some good gear and you’re feeling particularly lucky.

I’d say the most reasonable way to do this would be to save scum. You’re not gonna have time to do inventory and you’ll be highly reliant on RNG.
