Ryza, the heroine, is traveling when the Kark Isles, a collection of islets, emerge close to her homeland. Ryza and her companions explore the isles because they believe this poses a danger to their home and find remains with a massive gate. A strange voice tells Ryza to go to the Code of the Universe as she is getting close to the portal in her mind.
