How to Get Each Death

Thorned Rose
In the Principal’s Office on the fourth floor, examine the vase and choose to Inspect it.

Spirits’ Temptation 1
Go to the roof and examine the three pairs of shoes near the railing.

Spirits’ Temptation 2
Get caught by the falling evil spirit in the left side-room on the first floor, either by standing under where she falls (the blood spots) or while she’s crawling around after she falls.

Cursed Desk
On the third floor, in classroom 3-C, examine the desk with blood on it.

Bogus Door
On the third floor, in classroom 3-C, use the door/exit you didn’t use to come into the classroom.

The Library Killer
When you first meet Library in… well, the Library on the second floor- refuse to be her friend twice.

Pancake
In the Library on the second floor, examine the piece of paper on the floor between two bookshelves, then try and walk out.

Lazy-Eyed Ranger
In Library’s Room on the second floor, examine the “Lady-Eyed Ranger” book and choose not to read it.

Blood Wall
On the first floor, to the left of the bathrooms, check the dripping blood.

Locker 1
In the room with the lockers (exit left when you’re inside the first floor Faculty room), walk close in front of the locker with blood on the ground in front of it.

Locker 2
In the room with the lockers (exit left when you’re inside the first floor Faculty room), examine the tipped-over locker on the far left.

Hanako of the Toilet
In the first floor’s girls’ bathroom, knock three times on the closed stall door, then try and leave the bathroom in order to activate Hanako. Let her catch you/run into her.

Lunchtime
In the Cafeteria on the first floor, examine the meal near the lower left and choose to eat it.

Anatomical Model
In the Infirmary on the first floor, examine the bed closest to the Anatomical Model,
then choose to take a nap.

Measuring Up
In the Infirmary on the first floor, examine the height measuring device.

Engulfing Darkness
On the first floor, in Classroom 1-A (left side-room, then left again), touch the shadow moving around on the ground.

Hall of Death
In the right side room of the first floor, after the room with the “Don’t Look Back” warning,
turn around and face the ghost following you.

Sharp Glass
In the left side-room of the second floor, walk close to the window that has cracks in it.

Broken Fire Door
In the right side-room on the second floor, examine the note on the middle-top part of the room.
Alternately: While you are covered in blood, walk through the same room with the note.

Kurata’s Attack
While still covered in blood from successfully hiding from the Doctor, open the rattling locker in Room 2-B on the right side of second floor.
Alternately: Encounter Mr. Kurata in the Infirmary before Ayaka is killed while covered in blood.

Trip Laser
In the Laboratory on the second floor, walk into the red laser near the entrance before turning off the security.

High Security
In the Computer room on the third floor, once you’ve inserted the Security CD-ROM,
choose to ‘Increase security.’

Call of the Reaper
In the Laboratory on the second floor, walk in front of the phone on the table.

Test-Tube Spirit
In the Laboratory on the second floor, walk behind the row of test tubes. Make sure to do this before you have a charm to protect you.

Mystery Drink
In the Laboratory on the second floor, examine the drink on the counter and choose to drink it.

Shelves’ Shadow
While hiding from the Doctor in the Science room on the second floor, examine the space beside the shelf on the far right of the room and hide there.

Long Way Down
While hiding from the Doctor in the Science room on the second floor, go to the bloody footprints on the left side of the room and hide there.

Mimicry
While hiding from the Doctor in the Science room on the second floor, examine the stand between the skeleton and the anatomical model and hide there.

Test Subject
While hiding from the Doctor in the Science room on the second floor, use the computer to open the glass tube and then hide there.

Cardboard Box
While hiding from the Doctor in the Science room on the second floor, hide in the slightly-open cardboard box near the bottom-right of the room.

Left Exposed
While hiding from the Doctor in the Science room on the second floor, try to hide in the cabinet at the top-center of the room. After you’re given the option to stop trying because you won’t fit, keep trying to use it as a hiding spot.

Mandrake Bomb
In the second room of the Underground Cave, place the Mandrake Bomb in front of the blocked entrance/smashed boulders, hit it with the Metal Bat, then don’t move out of the way.
Alternately: Use the Mandrake Bomb on the electric grater in the Cafeteria on the first floor.

Play It Again
The the Music room (it says the third floor, on the label, but you reach it by heading left on the second floor after you solve the puzzle with the looping-hallway ghost), examine the piano and choose to play it.

Stop the Music
The the Music room (it says the third floor, on the label, but you reach it by heading left on the second floor after you solve the puzzle with the looping-hallway ghost), sit at the desk until a ghost starts to play the piano, then get up during her performance.

Awakened Doll
After you exit the room behind the Doll Room (for the first time only?), examine the nun doll that is laying down when she opens her eyes. You may have to get close to the exit to the Doll Room for her to open her eyes.

Kudoh In Crisis
When you find Kudoh (first floor, room to the right past the following-ghost and the door that needs the Emergency Exit key), choose to ‘Help’ when prompted.

Deadly Canvas
In the Art Room on the third floor, examine the dark painting on the left side of the room.

Busted
In the Art Room on the third floor, get caught by the bust when it comes to life after you use the paint set to color the lilies.

To the Bone
In the third room of the Underground Cave, attempt to follow the girl through the crack in the wall.

Preyed Upon
In the third room of the Underground Cave, or when/if ambushed on the ledge in the room past it, get caught by one of the spirits.

Slipped
Walk off the ledge un the Underground Cave in the wrong spot.

Tombstone
In the Courtyard, examine the third tombstone from the left near the entrance.

So, What’s the Point?

…beyond bragging rights?

There are 42 Death Trap listings- if you get at least 40 of them and clear the game, then clear the game with the proper ending and then also clear the ‘Truth’ epilogue (with either protagonist), you’ll unlock the ability in the Gallery to change the title screen.

There are also some achievements tied in with some of the Death Traps:

  • Spirits’ Temptation – Either both Spirits’ Temptation Death Traps, or just Spirits’ Temptation 2
