There are some mechanics which some people will find right away, but to those unaware “let me clue you in”.
Basic Movement Tech
Weapon Movement
Believe it or not some weapons have HUGE movement capabilities and the most basic one is simply to just shoot or attack downward, you’ll get a boost if you spamm your attack downward that send you up for a while.
Some weapons like the Blade/Knife when you charge up your attack allow you to BOOST in any direction you want, almost like a second Dash with the added bonus of huge damage.
“Catching a Ride”
Believe it or not you can ride your enemies, and even your friends! sometimes this happens by COMPLETE accident but you can do this intentionally, all you have to do is jump on top of said enemy (this really only works for the small guys, the big guys you just stand on them.)
If you ride a flying enemy you can steer them in the direction you want them to go, if you ride a ground enemy most likely you’re going with them to whichever direction they chose to run.
Your Actual Movement Sets
Fun fact, you can cover more ground if you jump first, do a dash afterward, jump again and then do another dash, this lets you stay off the ground for a long time while still covering ground in a direction you choose. extremely helpful if the ground floor becomes TOO overwhelming.
another thing to note is that when riding enemies, you can throw them by pressing the dash button. if you throw a flying enemy, it’ll kill them when they land, but if they have armor or are the big guys with the shield, they’ll just throw you off.
