ASTRA: Knights of Veda – Guide to Game Modes

Intro

Сrеdit gоеs to !

There are many different modes in ASTRA: Knights of Veda. This section of the guide will take a brief look at each mode, some of the mechanics they contain, and how to access them.

We’ve also included some of the essential items that you’ll need while on your adventures and some information about them.

Shoes

Adventurer’s Shoes

Adventurer’s Shoes are used when clearing specific modes in order to obtain rewards. Adventurer’s Shoes are generally not consumed when you’re clearing the content for the first time. They will become more essential when replaying stages or modes such as Nightmare Mode.

Shoes recover over time, and the maximum amount of Shoes that can be stored is 120. You can also recharge shoes up to 8 times a day with Starstones. Each time you will get 60 Shoes, but it will cost a little bit more with each recharge. The cost of the recharge resets every day at 6 AM UTC.

Hero’s Shoes

Hero’s Shoes can be used to obtain multiple runs worth of rewards from a stage in just one run. In order to obtain Hero’s Shoes, you need to synthesize them through Himith in Todburg. They require 80 Adventurer’s Shoes and a nominal amount of gold to create.

For guaranteed rewards, these shoes will give you multiples based on the shoes consumed from a normal run (i.e 10 shoes for a normal run gives 8x rewards, 20 shoes for a normal run gives 4x rewards.)

They will also generate other rewards that can be obtained on that stage (such as accessories) at a set chance.

You will not be able to use Hero’s Shoes the first time you clear content.

Steps of the Journey

Steps of the Journey allow you to recharge 60 shoes in place of Starstones. To consume your Steps of the Journey, hit the plus icon next to the Adventurer’s Shoes icon in the Adventure Guide, or when you’re in the stage information page before heading into the stage.

Veda’s Return

At the end of all modes, Veda’s Return will allow you to exit a stage when you are ready to leave. This will give you time to pick up any remaining items, as well as break any more interactable objects. Pressing [F] on the Veda Statue, or clicking on it, will activate Veda’s Return, ending the stage.

Adventure Zone

Adventure mode allows you to explore the story of ASTRA: Knights of Veda.

Completing a stage for the first time does not consume Shoes, however replaying a stage will consume a set amount of Shoes. There are currently 7 chapters in Adventure, and each chapter has 12 stages (84 stages in total). Adventure mode can be enjoyed solo, or with a party of up to 3 members.

Adventure Zone Map

When selecting Adventure Mode, the Master of the Book will appear outside of Todburg. On this map, you can track your progress, view your Adventure Level, and check Trophy Reward progress. Selecting a stage lets you assemble your team and enter the stage.

The World Map offers quick navigation across the lands of Planis by chapters, making it easy to switch between advancing the story and hunting for materials.

Hidden Rewards

Walking through the map can also reveal secrets. You may notice a shining light in the darkness of the forest, and clicking it will give you a secret reward. There are also special bonus stages to find when exploring the map, so make sure you hunt for these hidden rewards.

Calydon Hideout

Some of the “???” on the map that you find on your adventures as mentioned above may open the Calydon Hideout, which will allow you to earn heaps of gold by clearing out the pigs within. The enemies within the Calydon Dungeon will be typed according to the Adventure Chapter.

Wandering Merchant

Simon, the wandering merchant has a wide variety of incredibly powerful items on sale. As you complete Adventure Mode stages, you will earn special currency that is unique to a small set of Adventure chapters. For example Chapters 1, 2, and 3 offer Abyssal Harpa, which can be used for the Wandering Merchant that appears in these chapters.

When you find Simon the Wandering Merchant, you can exchange the currency acquired in those stages to purchase items like Crystals of Relationship, Relics, Enhancement materials and more! However these items are in limited stock, and once you have purchased all the items from Simon, you will be able to exchange the currency earned from those stages for Gold.

Story Mode

Going through the Story

The first time you enter a stage, you will progress through the story mode version of the stage. Since no Shoes are consumed during story mode, you can progress at your own pace. Story mode also offers special first-clear rewards that can only be obtained the first time you complete a stage.

Stages

Every stage presents new challenges for the Master of the Book and their Knights of Veda team, comprising four Knights of your choice in your party. You can freely switch between Knights during battle. If all four Knights are defeated, you become the Master of the Book. If you can activate the signature skill as the Master of the Book, then you can bring your Knights back to life. If you are defeated, you will need to replay the stage as it won’t be considered cleared.

You can check the Recommended Level of the stage and recommended attributes for the stage as well before you enter.

You can also invite friends and guild members to join you in your adventures. In order to invite someone to join you, click the second book above your team layout, select the other player’s name, and they will be invited to play with you. You must be on the same Adventure Level in order to play co-op.

Trophy Rewards

Every stage will have a collection of objectives to clear that will reward you with Trophies. In order to check a stage’s objectives, click the Trophy icon on the stage information page.

Earning trophies contributes to your Trophy Reward Track progress, unlocking fantastic items as you go. If you clear all stages of a chapter with 3 trophies, you will be able to increase the Trophy reward level, and earn yourself more Starstones for repeating the process again.

Replaying Stages

You can replay any of the stages once they have been completed. There are many reasons to go back and clear stages in ASTRA: Knights of Veda. You may be looking for specific resources needed to improve your Knights such as Records, enhancement materials, ascension materials, weapon/accessory enhancement materials, weapon/accessory ascension materials or just want to save up some Starstones by earning trophies and completing your Trophy Level. Once you’ve collected all the Trophy Rewards for the chapter, you can increase the difficulty to earn even more rewards.

Co-Op Features

Playing with Friends

Astra Knights of Veda allows you to journey through the world of Planis together with your friends. As long as all players are the same Adventure Level, you can complete Story Stages, Veda’s Nightmare, Sealed Prisons and more.

In order to invite someone into your party, all you have to do is click the second book option, which will open up a window that allows you to invite friends and guild members to join your party.

Once all players are ready to join the stage, the stage will begin, and you’ll be fighting shoulder to shoulder with your allies.

Note that certain stages/missions cannot be played through co-op.

Master of the Book and Adventure Level

Leveling up your Character

There are two important account bound leveling systems in ASTRA: Knights of Veda.

Your Master of the Book level allows you to progress through the game, unlocking rewards for each level reached.

The Adventure Level is applied to the ASTRA: Knights of Veda world as a whole, and increases the difficulty and rewards obtained from stages and dungeons. Your Adventure Level is tied to certain Master of the Book milestones, which when reached, will also unlock ways to improve the strength of your Knights of Veda.

Master of the Book Level

Through various adventures you can acquire Master of the Book EXP that will help you level up your Master of the Book level. You will have to raise your Master of the Book level in order to increase your overall Adventure Level. Your Master of the Book Level can go up to level 55. Your Master of the Book level will also improve the overall stats of your Knights.

When your Master of the Book level reaches 10/20/25/30/35/40/45, you will need to complete the corresponding Master of the Book Ascension Quest to further increase your Master of the Book Level. Once your Master of the Book level reaches the level cap, the EXP will be converted into Gold.

Adventure Level

As you increase your Master of the Book levels, you can increase your overall Adventure Level. The higher your Adventure Level, the harder the monsters become in the game. Of course, with a greater challenge also brings better rewards.

Your Adventure Level can go up to Level 8.

At set Master of the Book levels, you can perform an Ascension quest that will allow you to increase your Adventure Level. You must complete this quest in order to switch to a higher Adventure Level.

You are also free to drop your Adventure Level down by one level. This can be useful when going on adventures in co-op mode with other Masters of the Book or if you are finding the increase in difficulty a little too much to handle. Lower Adventure Levels reward lower amounts of rewards, and if you feel up to the challenge, you are free to change back up with no restrictions.

Sealed Prison

Sealed Prisons

Sealed Prisons appear across the world of Planis, and will unlock as your progress through the story. Each of these prisons contain one, near immortal being with immense power and strength. Only the Master of the Book and their Knights of Veda can overcome the impossible odds and vanquish these foes.

How to Enter

To enter a Sealed Prison, you need to have first completed the associated quests which will appear as a World Quest. Once the conditions to unseal the Prisons have been met, you should be able to find them on the world map. There is one in each chapter, so you will have to unseal each one separately as you progress through the game.

Rewards & Conditions

First clear for the Sealed Prison will not cost any Shoes. Subsequent entries for Sealed Prisons require a large number of Shoes in order to obtain the rewards. The rewards for completing the Sealed Prison include Gold and Accessories.

Each Sealed Prison has their own unique stage hazards, so be prepared for anything as you descend down into the darkness.

Veda’s Nightmare

Veda’s Nightmare (Nightmare Dungeons)

Within the Cloister of the Holy Grail, deep within the dreams of the Master of the Book, resides the Nightmare. Veda, recovering her strength, resides in this hellish pocket dimension, and there she faces constant danger that the Master of the Book must protect her from.

Veda’s Nightmare is a manifestation of the horrors that the Master of the Book has faced. As you complete chapters in Adventure, you will be able to refight the final bosses within the Nightmare Dungeon. Where the Sealed Prison is a 1 on 1 battle with a powerful boss, the Nightmare Dungeon pits you against a sea of enemies before you get your chance to fight the Beast one more time.

How to Enter

To enter Veda’s Nightmare, you must first access the Nightmare Dimension from Todburg. You can do this by either interacting with the Bed in the Master of the Book’s room, or by pressing the Nightmare icon on the Quick Menu.

Then you will be able to select the ‘Veda’s Nightmare’ menu option at the bottom of the screen. You will need to have unlocked a nightmare before you will be able to see the icon to enter. The first one will be available after you clear Chapter 1 and subsequent Nightmare Dungeon stages will be available after you finish each Chapter, but you’ll have to have cleared the previous Nightmare Stage before you can attempt to clear the next one.

Rewards & Conditions

The first clear for each stage of Veda’s Nightmare will not cost any Shoes. After that, a large number of shoes will be required to earn the rewards for clearing the stage within Veda’s Nightmare, but they more than make up for the high cost. You will be able to obtain large quantities of Gold, Enchantment Scrolls, Relics, and powerful items that will grant your characters even more power on the battlefield.

Tower of Trials

The Tower of Trials is a golden monolith that pierces the skies, and sits just off the coast of Gigantfall. Each of the massive tower’s 12 floors provides a unique challenge, and Masters of the Book must complete 3 rooms before ascending a floor of the tower. Once a room is completed, you will be able to select one of three buffs to help you continue your ascent.

Some buffs will only apply to the next room, whereas other buffs will apply to the whole floor. You can access the Tower of Trials after it has been unlocked by going to your World Map and scrolling all the way to the right.

Structure / Rules

Tower of Trials is a seasonal PvE mode with a total of 12 floors. Each floor has up to 3 rooms.

Floors 1-8 are one-time stages. Floors 9-12 are seasonal and can be replayed from floor 9 up until the season ends.

Each floor has its own Goddess’s Arrangement, a unique modifier on the floor. For example, a Floor may start with an attribute type benefit such as Water ATK +20%. Build your team with the Goddess’s Arrangement in mind in order to maximize your combat prowess.

You will need to clear waves of monsters in order to progress through the rooms. The final room of a floor will hold a powerful boss creature that you will need to take down in order for Veda’s Return to appear.

After each room, you will be prompted to select a buff for the next room. Choose carefully, as selecting an ineffective buff could spell disaster for your Knights of Veda.

Some floors of the Tower of Trials will require you to challenge the floor with 2 parties. You must arrange two teams of up to four characters. The player cannot use the same character in both teams.

Rewards & Conditions

Tower of Trials will unlock after you complete Chapter 7 of Adventure Mode. Each floor has its own unique objectives, that can be checked once you enter a floor. These objectives will allow you to obtain special rewards, including Starstones. Merely clearing a stage for the first time can reward you with enhancement items such as Gold, Relics and more. By completing all of the objectives, you can obtain a variety of items including Relic Selection Tickets, Weapon Crafting Materials and more.

Arena

Arena (PVP)

The Arena is where Knights of Veda can hone their skills on each other, and build a reputation for being the strongest around! In the Arena, you will engage in live action PvP against other players on your server. Each time you win, you’ll earn ranking points to progress your Crown of Victory progress. This will also give you a variety of rewards so make sure you’re ready to win!

How to Access the Arena

To access the Arena, you’ll be given a World Quest after you’ve completed Chapter 2-12 of the Story in Adventure Mode. You’ll be asked to speak to Uber Palmer in Todburg. He’s located in the Central Lobby across from Demona Fennigold.

Showdown

Showdown is a classic team deathmatch format where players descend upon the Abandoned Castle Ruins to determine who is the strongest Master of the Book. There are 3 variants of Showdown; 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3.

1v1

  • A classic deathmatch between 2 participants. Each player will select up to 4 Knights to take into battle. A winner is determined when the opposing player is felled.

2v2

  • In 2v2, each player will bring 3 Knights each to the battlefield. A winner is decided when the enemy team can field no more knights on the battlefield.

3v3

  • In 3v3, each player will bring 2 Knights each. A winner is decided when all opposing players have been defeated.

Rewards

Rewards can be earned for participating in the Arena. Each time you win a match, you will earn Arena Medals which can be used to purchase items from the Arena Store. Ascension materials, Leveling materials and more can be purchased from the Arena Store.

As you battle and win in the Arena, you will also make progress on your Arena ranking. At certain milestones, you’ll earn rewards that will help you on your ascension up the leaderboards. Check back each season to make sure you get all the rewards that you can!

The Forgotten Mine

As you explore Chapter 3, you will obtain a quest that allows you to folllow an Ancient Map in order to find a secret treasure. Following the clues will unlock the Forgotten Mine.

The Giant Spider within the Forgotten Mine is a fearsome beast, but with the right team, you can take down this monster and unlock vast amounts of Refining and Alchemy Stones! These stones are perfect for a Master of the Book looking to get the most out of their Weapons and Accessories.

You will need to break through the spiders stone wall defenses in order to weaken it, and once weakened, damage built up will cause Alchemy and Refining Stones to drop from the rocky exterior of the Spider.

After a certain amount of time, the Spider will flee the battle, so make sure you deal as much damage as you possibly can before it runs off! Completing this dungeon will not cost shoes, and will refresh periodically.
