1. Right click on a OneDrive icon in the tray.
2. Click on the gear icon “Settings” in the upper right corner.
3. Click on the “Manage Backup”.
4. Turn off Back up of Documents folder.

At this point, the Documents folder is moved from the OneDrive folder to the its usual location (by default it’s C:\Users\\Documents), but the files you had on OneDrive, still remain there – they’re not copied automatically, so you can go to C:\Users\\OneDrive\Documents and copy everything from there to the Documents in your user directory.

This resolves many issues in the older other games, such as Nier Automata, Dying Light etc. Whenever you want to back up your Documents folder to OneDrive, simply re-enable the Back Up, let it sync the changes to the server and disable it again.
