Deadlock – Quick Guide to The Jacob Lash

The Jacob Lash Guide

Ground Strike

This is the first ability. It works by stomping the ground in front of you, hurting enemies nearby. If you’re in the air when you use it, you quickly come down to do the stomp. The stomp itself deals 90 damage. It also does 6 damage for every meter away, up to 11 meters. You have to wait 18 seconds before using it again.

When you improve it, there are different upgrades. The first upgrade reduces the wait time to 8 seconds. The second upgrade makes enemies hit by it get pushed into the air and move 50% slower for 3 seconds. The fifth upgrade more than doubles the damage per meter, and it gets even stronger at longer distances.

The Grapple

This is the second ability. It lets you pull yourself through the air toward a target you choose. When you use it, you get back one stamina charge and can jump and move in the air again.

The Grapple can reach 30 meters. It uses 1 energy and has an effect that lasts 2 seconds. You have to wait 40 seconds before using it again. It moves you through the air at 20 meters per second.

When you improve it, you get different upgrades. The first upgrade makes the waiting time 20 seconds shorter. The second upgrade lets you reach 20 meters further and makes your weapon do 6 more damage for 10 seconds. The fifth upgrade makes your weapon shoot 20% faster for a short time.

The Flog

This is the third ability. It uses a whip to hit enemies and take some of their life. The whip can reach 25 meters away. You have to wait 30 seconds before using it again. When you hit non-hero enemies like aliens, troops, or guardians, you get back 30% of the damage as health.

The Flog does 65 damage and you get back 80% of the damage as health when hitting non-heroes. It can hit enemies within a 30-degree angle in front of you.

When you improve it, you get different upgrades. The first upgrade makes enemies move 35% slower for 3 seconds when hit. The second upgrade lets you use it 15 seconds sooner. The third upgrade increases the damage to 105.

The Death Slam

This is Jacob Lash’s most powerful ability. It works like this: You connect whips to enemies you’re looking at. After a short time, these enemies are lifted up and can’t move. Then they’re slammed into the ground. This hurts the enemies you grabbed and any others where they land. It also makes them move slower.

You can let go of an enemy early if you want. You can only grab enemies you can see and that are close enough.

It takes 2 seconds to use and can reach 18 meters. You have to wait 130 seconds before using it again. It makes enemies move 50% slower for 4 seconds. It takes 0.3 seconds to start working. It does 115 damage and can throw enemies up to 12 meters.

When you improve it, you get different upgrades. The first upgrade lets you throw enemies 8 meters further. The second upgrade adds 100 more damage. The third upgrade lets you use it 60 seconds sooner.

This ability is very useful when there are many enemies in one place. For example, you could use it to grab enemies attacking your base and throw them where your team can easily defeat them.

Other Upgrades

The other upgrades are in the “Curiosity Shop.” You’ll see this shop during the tutorial. If you want to check it out quickly, go to “Sandbox” mode or look in the resources section. The “Curiosity Shop” has some upgrade suggestions from VALVe. These might be good for any character. It’s a good idea to try these suggested upgrades now. If you want, you can pick different upgrades for your character and make your own build. You can do this using the resources menu. Try to create a build that you think will work well in games.

I hope you found this helpful!
