F1 Manager 2024 – Gameplay FAQ

FAQ

Affiliates / Young Talent:

If you discover a young talent, you have the option of signing them to an affiliate contract. This lets them use your Race Simulator for added development bonuses, and lets you choose which area of their stats they focus on in training.

It also lets you put them in to drive in Free Practice 1, if they are 18 years or older. This gives them a good Mentality boost, and aids their growth.

If they already have a race seat in feeder series F2/F3, they will keep it. If you find a young talent with a high development rate and no seat in a feeder series, don’t despair. Sign them to an affiliate contract, and let them grow their OVR, they may get a seat next season. Feeder series usually sign young drivers mostly based on their OVR, so if you want to give your young prospect a shot at getting a seat as soon as possible, it’s advisable to focus on their Pace Stats, as these affect OVR the most.

To gain eligibility to drive in F1, a young driver has to be 18 years old, and compete in 2 seasons of feeder series. This means that after completing 1 full season and racing in Bahrain their second season, they will be eligible for F1.

Contracts

Cost Cap:

Cost cap is the maximum amount of money you’re allowed to spend in a season, it currently is $139.200.000. Designing, researching and manufacturing body parts all come out of the cost cap.

So does the salaries of your pit crew, your engineers, your race engineers, and your scouts. Facilities upkeep for everything to do with Car Development come out of cost cap. So does Race Sim and Weather Centre Upkeep.

Extra powertrain parts also come out of your cap. If you go over the cap, you will receive a fine every month, equal to the amount that you have gone over.

Create-A-Team:

No prize money season 1, low cost cap. It’s because there’s been design done for you before you “get the job”.. That’s why the first design for every part gets a big boost.
