This guide will take you through the base stats of every Fable in the game. This can be useful to try and decide what Fables are worth trading for, and which you should focus on breeding and combining to increase their genetic strength.
What Are Base Stats?
Base stats contribute to the overall stats of your Fables. These stats are hugely important to their output – but keep in mind that the genetic strength of a Fable is also very important.
A Fable’s overall Attack stat will be calculated from a combination of their level, base stat, genetic strength and their Spirit.
Fable stats influence their performance in tasks:
- Health – How much damage a Fable can take in Training before you need to spend gold to heal it
- Attack – How much damage a Fable does to enemies in Training, or to ores in Mining
- Defense – Reduces the amount of damage their Health takes when hit in training
- Speed – At the moment does nothing [Dev says they are working on a new task which uses speed]
- Stamina – How long a Fable can mine before it needs a rest [presumably will also affect other Tasks in future updates]
Why Should I Care?
In short, spending time, gold and effort on increasing the genetic strength of a Fable with a low Attack base stat is pointless (at the moment). Both of the tasks currently in the game rely hugely on Attack, and you want to aim to get this stat as high as possible for your Miners and Trainers.
You are better spent putting in this effort into Fables with a higher base stat, as breeding/combining is costly (not only in time and gold, but also space in your stable).
What Else Contributes to Stats?
Spirit
Each Fable is also randomly assigned a Spirit, which will increase one stat and decrease another. The ones in bold are ones to aim for, strikeouts are ones to avoid.
- Cat – +20% Speed / -20% Stamina
- Crab – +20% Defense / -20% Speed
- Bear – +20% Attack / -20% Speed
- Ostrich – +20% Stamina / -20% Defense
- Rhino – +20% Defense / -20% Stamina
- Snake – +20% Attack / -20% Defense [Good for mining, not Training]
- Tiger – +20% Attack / -20% Stamina
- Turtle – +20% Stamina / -20% Speed
Starter Fables
Fable | Health | Attack | Defense | Speed | Stamina | Total |
Arbowl | 80 | 90 | 70 | 110 | 100 | 450 |
Firox | 80 | 100 | 90 | 100 | 80 | 450 |
Otto | 60 | 120 | 110 | 80 | 80 | 450 |
Rok | 100 | 80 | 135 | 75 | 60 | 450 |
Reccomendations:
You should pick Otto as your starter, as it will get you off the ground quicker than the others.
- Mining: Otto, Firox
- Training: Rok (the others’ health is just a bit too low)
