Islands of Insight – General Puzzle Guide (No Spoilers)

This guide will explain a few aspects of gameplay about puzzles and more.

General Guide to Puzzle Explanation

What Are Shiny Puzzles?

Shiny Puzzles are any puzzles that have a shiny appearance to them. The list of these puzzles is as follows:

  • Wandering Echo
  • Sentinel Stones
  • Glide Ring

Only these puzzles will qualify towards your Shiny Puzzle Luminous Quest progress.

Playing in a Party

Friends and party members can drop pins to help you locate the puzzles, but you are in total control when it comes to solving the puzzles. Nobody can interfere when you are solving a puzzle, and only you will receive XP/rewards.

What to Do when the Puzzle Is too Hard

Given that problems differ in difficulty, using Foresight is entirely optional but can be helpful if you require more understanding. H or the button on the bottom left can be used to ask for a hint.

You can always leave a Puzzle Box before it’s finished, go on to another one, or come back to it at a later time, just as with other puzzle types.

Underclued Grid…

You think that this have no sense? You wrong. These are puzzles that can’t be solved completely, they have too little clues for that.

The goal of the puzzle is to fill in all squares that you know for certain, based on the few clues you do have. At the top it says how many squares you can fill in without guessing, so you know how many more things you can find.

We would suggest visiting The Shattered Library in Lucent Waters – it teaches you about underclued grids pretty well.

Lower Half of the Pyramid/Rhombus

Didn’t know how to enter it?

Entering the pyramid requires 5 secrets, but some glass walls act just like the enclave entrances and require 10 and 15 secrets. Maybe more elsewhere, but 15 is the highest I’ve seen.
