Tips to Reduce Soldier’s Trauma

How-To

Not that I’ve found thus far (or even reduce down time) and am well into chapter 3.

Only continuous time off duty remains the cure unless there’s a magic potion somewhere I either missed or exists down the line. While I haven’t verified, it’s implied by the game’s use of the word “continuous’ that if tasked with anything before fully recovered, all prior recovery is lost.

Click on the trauma icon to see how long remains to help determine their availability for squads in upcoming deployments or other roles. The time displayed is in real time minutes…not game time.

Traumatic events in non-armed combat situations are pretty much unpredictable. They can happen to anyone regardless of their traits though the clumsy, careless, etc are more prone.

My way of dealing with it: Better solutions probably exist

To minimize chances (if not doing so already), avoid sending the weak and/or idiots on foraging or exploring missions or even having them shovel coal whenever possible.

Instead of cannon fodder, consider them clock fodder. Entrust them with the time killing “ho-hum” stuff that needs to be done to progress. Shopping.

Going shopping long distances is “safe” unless something happens upon entering the town…which isn’t the norm…and even then can usually be avoided or is relatively minor.

While uneventful shopping trips earn no XP points, an essential task gets done and only their stamina takes a hit meanwhile the other recoup.

Hope this helps.
