Laysara: Summit Kingdom – How to Defend Against Higher Lvl Avalanches

Here you can find some tips that eplains how to deal with avalanches.

Tips to Defend Against Higher Lvl Avalanches

You get a horn that lowers the level of the avalanche. 1 horn, 1 woods 1 wall should cover them all.

Each forest placed behind one another will increase the protection level offered. With 3 rows of forests stacked, the area behind will be protected from lvl 3 avalanches (the most powerful).

Avalanche walls can increase protection from lvl 1 to lvl 2 on their own, but to get to lvl 3 protection 2 forests followed by a wall is needed.

At tech lvl 5, horns become available and can prevent lvl 3 avalanches when placed close enough to snow caps. So late-game, 1 forest – 1 wall – 1 horn to caps (cannot always seem to get them close enough) becomes well worth while.

Example

Here is a lvl 3 avalanche being stopped on the Windslab Mountain that has frequent & powerful avalanches at professional difficultly.

Took two rows of forests plus a wall to absorb the impact. At least it’s paying for itself by exporting charcoal.

Conclusion

Just place two horns next to the snow cap and one row of forests is enough, since every horn reduces the level of the avalanche. You don’t even need the protection wall.

While that works for many snow caps at lower levels, some snow caps cannot be effected by horns because they are too far away from build-able areas.

It’s really easy to tell if a snow cap is effect by a horn as it’ll be indicated while hovering over the snow cap. For examples, this horn can effect two lower snow caps.

No matter how many walls and forrests i build they are still getting past them.

    • I put up a row of forests and then a row of walls. The level two avalanche went right through it.

      • That sounds like a level 3 avalanche or a gap was present.
