Laysara: Summit Kingdom – Troubleshooting Guide

This guide contains few workarounds and fixes if you get stuck in the Laysara: Summit Kingdom game.

What to Do If You Get Stuck

Tutorial

Can’t complete the first objective, I’m holding MMB and zooming out, but it doesn’t progress the tutorial

To complete this objective step, you need not only to zoom out using MMB, but also move the camera around a little (moving mouse when still holding MMB down).

I’ve built a Yak Pasture, but I’m still missing yaks

Every Yak Pasture gives you a couple of Yaks, but maybe you need more! Hover your mouse over the Yaks panel (top part of the UI) to see how many Yaks do you have in town and how many are required. Building an additional Yak Pasture or two should help.

My Academy is not working

Academy requires a lot of Monks, 38, to be exact. That means you need 10 Monks Dormitories (each houses 4 Monks) to staff your Academia fully. Please note, that the workforce is global per mountain, so it doesn’t matter where you place Dormitories.

How should I transport Utensils up to my Monks?

You don’t have to – every Monk Dormitory provides you with 4 Monks instantly, without a necessity to fulfil any of its needs. Just have 10 of these and that’ll be enough to staff the Academia and continue the tutorial. Operational Academia will unlock Cart Post for you, and you’ll learn about long-distance resource transportation in the very next tutorial step.

I got stuck on Trading Post objective

This objective has two parts: Have operational Trading Post and have it fully protected from avalanches.

The operational part should be pretty straightforward: just build it, make a road connection, ensure you have enough work- and yakforce to run it, and that’s it. You don’t need to click anything on Post’s UI, just having it there with road access and enough workforce is enough.

Having Trading Post fully protected from avalanches means having it completely covered by an avalanche cover visualization. Place a few Foresters next to each other and place a post below. To bring up the visualization, click on the snowflake icon on top right corner, or just select a Forester.

Non-tutorial

Praying Places don’t work, I can upgrade my Lowlanders

This is actually not a bug, but a feature ^^ Citizens’ demands differ from mountain to mountain. On some of them, Lowlanders would like to have Praying Places nearby, but in others, they prefer other Enlightenment facilities. This way the game isn’t so repetitive after completing 1 or 2 scenarios, because on every mountain you have to look at what each caste actually needs and plan your town accordingly.

While in Tutorial and two maps marked as “Good for start” Lowlanders indeed require Praying places, it is not the case on every map. To see what they actually demand, click on its house and look on the right side – here you can see all the icons of actually needed resources / facilities (some of them are double the size, which means they will count more towards upgrade progress). If the icon of any particular resource / facility isn’t there – the inhabitants don’t want it.

On some mountains, you may need to reach some Research Level before being able to upgrade your houses, but this isn’t the case on maps marked “Good for start”.

I cannot find a way to produce Ornamented Cedar

The production chain for it is located under “Resources” tab (barrel icon), the last one of the sub-tabs on the right. It requires a high Research Level to unlock and is pretty intense, just so you know!
