This guide covers all vests, OctoCamo patterns, FaceCamo options, and costumes available for Old Snake in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, including their unlock requirements and locations.

Command Vests

Tactical vests have a slight effect on camouflage effectiveness. Their primary benefit is visual customization, allowing you to match different vest colors with various outfits.

Five vests are available from the beginning of the game, while five additional colors are unlocked after completing the game.

OctoCamo Manual Patterns

These camouflage patterns can be selected manually. Because camouflage effectiveness depends on the environment, manually changing patterns whenever the biome changes can require frequent menu adjustments.

All of the following manual camouflage options are available from the start except Corpse Camo.

Costumes

Costumes can be used to disguise Snake. Some are optional, while others are restricted to specific areas or acts.

Altair Costume

How to unlock: Obtain the Assassin’s Creed.

The requirements are:

• Kill or stun at least 50 enemies with the knife.
• Perform at least 50 CQC takedowns.
• Trigger no more than 25 Alert phases.

Optical Camouflage can be used if you are having difficulty meeting the requirements.

Middle Eastern Militia Disguise

Location: Middle East, Militia Hideout

How to unlock: Explore the northeastern section of the Rebel Hideout during Act 1. The disguise can be found in one of the lockers.

This disguise is usable only during Act 1.

South American Rebel Disguise

Location: South America, Cove Valley Village

How to unlock: Explore Cove Valley Village during Act 2.

A building next to the wall where you start is locked. To access it, cause a commotion to lure the soldier hiding inside out of the building.

This disguise is usable only during Act 2.

Civilian Disguise

Location: Central Europe

How to unlock: Available at the start of the level.

This disguise is usable only during Act 3.

Master Collection Vol. 2 Bonus Skins

The Master Collection Vol. 2 release adds two additional skins:

• Cardboard Camouflage: Unlockable by pre-ordering the game.
• Gold Camouflage: Unlockable if your system has save data for at least one title from Master Collection Vol. 1.
