This guide explains the cooking and medicine herb mechanics.

Cooking

You need to unlock enough tech (creation) to build the cooking pot, and unlock the recipes that can be used with your food resources.

Set up production at the cooking port then setup workers with priority in cooking.

How to speed up

For cooking just keep drying foods till you get to the pot.

More recipes will appear later in the trees for all skills but you will have a bunch when you get to the pot.

Medicine Herb

Iirc you can create medicine from the start. You’ll need to find the herbs through expeditions though.

The effectiveness of medicine is upgraded through research (creation).

How to set up

To get more herbs there is a button at the bottom to send villagers looking for herbs. It’s no unlock. The unlocks in herbalism are all just to make potions more effective.
