You need quartz on level 3.
In details
You need to reach level 3 in research for quartz!
Check in your journal what you have to do to level it up.
Mostly it is selling quartz a couple times, mine it and craft something with it.
Then it unlocks new recipes, for example glass or new bars.
Important note
The quality of the quartz does not matter. Only the research level.
There are three types of quartz:
- Blue.
- Gold.
- Purple.
